    Juvenile Banded shark help

In my experience with many sharks the red belly more often signifies nitrite poisoning. While at first the shark will appear to swim and act normal minus the feeding of course. Eventually 2-7 days later they will start swimming erratically and gasping for air. Eventually this can cause the...

    trigger/eel questions

One of the LFS has a Snowflake that is 3 foot long and larger in diameter then a plastic pop bottle. They *can* get very large. Pipefish don't do well with any fast moving or aggressive fish. It stresses them out and they may be reluctant to feed if there are other fish feeding aggressively...

    Hawaiian Dragon Eels ?

They are extremely hardly, eat anything, and are very easy to take care of. Their only downside is trying to find tankmates for them. They will eat almost anything you put in the tank with them. After all shipping and crating fees I paid like $660 for mine. Two for $2,500 is rediculous.

I am interested in some rock if you've got some good 'shelf' type pieces or good material to build caves with. I need some additional hiding spots for my eels.

sharkguy: I don't have many fish anymore. I had to get rid of most of them when I moved because I just didn't have the space or money anymore. Most of them I donated to places, some I sold, and some went to family members. The Mall of Americas Underwater World got all my sharks. I believe...

    blacktips, leopard and bonnetheads

Longest I had a bonnethead was about 3 1/2 months. He was 20-21 inches when I got him... he swam, ate, did everything you would expect but one day I just found him lying dead for no reason. In later months I had 3 others at various times that never lasted more than 4 weeks. Angelsharks...

    cant find my eel

I had a snowflake jump ship and scurry along the floor 10-11 feet and crawl under a end table - he moved that far on very thick carpeting also. The same eel swam into my overflow and back into the filter system and I've found him camped out inside my bio-balls on more than one occasion. I was...

    blacktips, leopard and bonnetheads

Bonnets can get as much as 4-5 feet but average 3-4, Black tips 5 feet and Leopards can sometimes reach 6-9 feet completely depending on water temperatures. Leopards are a cool-water shark but if you have them at normal marine aquarium temps they will grow much larger. Bonnets are very hard to...

    Eel not eating?

Eating like a machine now... krill, shrimp, silversides, my hand... you name it - it eats it. Guess he just needed time to settle in. He's certainly established himself as master of the aquarium.

    Eel not eating?

Eel finally ate store bought shrimp last night but only one piece. He tore the #$^- out of it but then refused to eat anymore after the first one. As for the mollies - I thought about that and damsels also but they are way to expensive at my LFS(s). Definately a last resort.

    what is the most aggressive

Female Spotted Wobbegong - ate all triggers, groupers, trevallys, wrasse, eels, and other sharks in her tank. Triggers don't stand a chance against them especially when they can eat fish twice the length of their body with ease.

    Eel not eating?

Still not eating - going to attempt normal grocery store bought shrimp today. Since every fish I have eats shrimp it won't go to waste if he doesn't eat it anyway.

    Eel not eating?

I have a recently acclimated (4 days) Japanese Dragon Eel that doesn't seem one bit interested in food. When I introduce food into the tank he just shakes his head violently back and forth and doesn't make any effort to approach the food. I know he can see me and the food both but he still...
