Seio pumps and opinions on them

I was out searching for tunze pumps yesterday and a few suppliers (who didn'[t have them) asked me to consider Seio's instead. Anyone have opinions on them? I'm also looking at the koralia #3's (providing they get past this "recall") so I just thought I would ask everyone's thoughts on what...

    Tunze's rusting?

I'm reading on another site that Tunze impellers will rust out? Has anyone had any experience with this? If it's true than is there any other pumps that aquire rust over time?

    recommending a return pump?

any help is appreciated asI think approximately 1600 gph (2400 subtract head loss and elbows) is a bit too much going through my sump.

    recommending a return pump?

submersible would be the preference just due to the potential of an external leaking, if it does it will leak into the sump and nothing will get damaged.

what is the best powerhead for me

Tunze nano's and hydor koralia's may also be options for you, however both cost more than a maxi-jet (tunze in price, koralia in size) I personally am saving up for some tunze's as the koralia model 4's are too big IMO. If you are concerned with hydro usage a maxi-jet 900 is a better choice than...

    Refractometer question

doesn't tap water contain trace amounts of salt? Would RO water be a better calibration option if I can go out and buy a gallon of it? Thanks for the quick reply btw

    Refractometer question

How do you calibrate a refractometer? I don't have RO and am saving up for a unit. Should I go buy a gallon and test it? Both the water in my tank and the water in a friends tank are measuring 1.020 and tap water is almost zero for salinity so it SOUNDS like it['s doing its job, but can it stay...

Assorted Colored Sea Serpent DEAD OR ALIVE

You do need to drip acclimate invertebrates as they are much more delicate than fish. Three minutes of adding water from your tank is not nearly enough time for it to get used to your tank variables. It is either in a massive shock or it has died. Give it some time, generally if the legs fall...

    Coralife 220 Dimensions?

Thank you Sign Guy If anyone was curious the dimensions are 6x8x25.5 Sounds like its going to be a hang on for me, hopefully out of the back of the sump area in the display stand, just a few inches too short to keep it in the sump. You can'[t win all the time though ;) Its still a deal! Thanks...

    seaclone trouble

I have the seaclone 150 on my 65 and am currently looking at buying another skimmer. There are a few mods you can do to this skimmer providing it is the newer of the two types but if you don't want the air bubbles try putting a sponge or a small filter sock over the output. You have to keep...

What are the Pros/Cons of a Canister Filter?

So yeah, Ive been reading on another site that Canisters are not neccessary. Is this true? Ive run one for years on my current setup and will be ugrading in the near future. If I can dodge the canister cost that would be great, but if I need it then I need it right? The argument is that enough...

    GPH Calculations?

Hi all, I have a 120 Gallon Tank with a 40 gallon sump that I will be picking up tomorrow. With it comes a mag24 pump that has never been used, and I'm unsure about it's setup. I have a 3 inch overflow drain setup with a stockman standpipe and was wondering what the calculations would be to...
