i would agree with joncat here. Now i have had to make some adjustments to my msx 160 it is by far the best skimmer I have had. The only one's I have had that was even somewhat respectable was the ETSS sumpbuddy 40 and the bermuda 3c but they used a very large pump in comparison.

here is a poor ic of mine. Same dimesions as yours i believe. The baffles for the skimmer section are 9 inches tall. The fuge section is 13 inches tall. If memory serves me correct i have 17 inches for the skimmer filter sock area, 2 inches for baffles, 6 inches for return pump, and 11 inches...

I would suggest ATI UVL and giesmann bulbs all very good. I would suggest this order ATI BLUE + Ulv 75/25 14000k blue + ULV Aquasun Figi Purple blue + ATI Aquablue Special 12000k blue+ This would be more light than you would know what to do with. I can suggest a place where you can get them all.

Get yourself some white epoxy Appliance paint. Comes in a spray can. You can get it at walmart lowes hope depot ect. When dry it will be hard and work very well. It will protect your hood from the saltwater creep as well.

I have used all the mentioned bulbs. I would go with 2 blue + 1 aquasun and either a 75/25 for a more white witha little more par. or change out the 75/25 with a aquablue special for a more blue look.
