    Strange clown goby ID

Hello! I purchased a "green clown goby" for $8 at the LFS on Sunday which is definitely not green. I have two of these already, and this little dude just doesn't match up. I sent in these photos to another FAQ site (not sure if I can say Wet Web Media??) and they gave ID as a citron clown goby...

    Upgrading to bigger tank

Here are a couple of our old friends who will be gracing the new tank. I love my "cheapie fish." These are 2 of my favorites Mrs. Sally Lightfoot

    Upgrading to bigger tank

This is the tank with some water and the new sand. Our 16 month old, the little troublemaker (and reason we have to move our tank to a stand stronger than our old wrought-iron one!)

    Upgrading to bigger tank

Good idea about the egg crate! I hadn't thought about using it before. I think I even have some scraps at my parents' house that I had used on top of a lizard cage when I was a kid. One question about the water issue - if I move water from the old tank into the new one today until it is half...

    Upgrading to bigger tank

I have a 20g saltwater tank that has been set up for nearly 3 years now. I purchased a 40g acrylic tank and with the help of a talented friend, built a strong and beautiful oak stand for it. My question is, how exactly should I be making this short "move" from one tank to the other? Here is...

Help me ID 5 critters, please!

Wow!! Thanks for the great info, both of you, and quick replies to boot. The hermit is in an orange turbo shell now. He is probably about the size of a quarter when viewed from the front. So far he's not caused any trouble. He is rather slow and seems to really enjoy just picking at the algae...

    Peppermint shrimp babies

I know peppermint shrimp do this all the time, but I was wondering if it was worth a shot to try and raise the babies in a net-box thing, hanging inside my main tank, rather than trying to do it in a separate tank? I put the mom shrimp in one of those "breeder nets" you put freshwater...

Help me ID 5 critters, please!

I posted about some of these before, but now I have photos #1: Small brown and white snails with varying degrees of stripes. Some have a lot of brown, some have almost none. The biggest are pea-sized, they come out mostly at night but I can see them anytime if I search. They're definitely not...

Adding live sand to existing bed

Wasn't sure if this was the right spot for this question or not... Sorry if I am mistaken! I have a 20g high with about 2 - 2 1/2" of sand already in it. The tank has been set up for about 2 1/2 years now. I very rarely do anything to disturb the sand. I was considering adding some live sand to...

    Mystery hermit & snails

I was a member of the forums a while ago, but for some reason the server isn't recognizing my email address anymore! I purchased a pretty decent sized hermit from the LFS I used to work at last week. They had it labeled as a "common hermit crab". I have yet to see any like it, so I don't know if...
