    Squirrel fish in reef

If he is not invert safe does that mean he'll eat my coral banded shrimp. SF say to monitor with inverts- what does that mean. Th lsf store told me to watch him- once I put him in I'll never get him out.

When I emptied my 55 gallon I used one of my power heads and pushed a piece of tubing into the outlet and it pumped the water out quickly- Lots of luck with the frest water.

    Spiny urchin in refugium

Hi. I have a spiny urchin and just realized the reason for my rock slides and why my corals are lost so easily. I sort of like the guy and was wondering if I could put him in the refugium . It's filled with algae and copepods .

urchin for my reef - suggestions?

I have a pincushion urchin and just came on the site to see if I can put him in the refugium because he is knocking all my rocks around and causing me to lose corals. If I saw him doing it I could stop him but he does it at night. Today i caught him knocking over my largest rock along with...

    Adding a refugium

I have a real cheap setup for a refugium . I have a 120 tank with a 20 galon refugium (old tank was just laying around) I did have it drilled for a return line to my sump. I have a small power head arached to a tube running down into the refugium from dt and the overflow that was drilled takes...

How to plumb the return line?

if you drill a small hole in the return about 1/4 inch below the surface the line will lose it's prime when the water goes down. just make sure it's the only thing you have plummed to your sump. I forgot about my refugium and that continued to drain and caused a flood, but the return line had...

    HELP-fish dying

It doesn't have any corralines on it. I think I have it a few years, but the tank was neglected and only recently did I start it up again. I don't think it has alot of stuff to die on it that's why i used it. I had it in the refugium I started a couple months ago.
