Fair enough, I will no longer consider this forum as a supportive place to turn to and will ask my questions elsewhere.

    Algae issue

I have a mag float. It works well o nthe sides, but not the bowed front. I understand algae can be beneficial and don't want to eliminate it all. but what you are seeing in the picture is less than one day's growth. The glass went to completely clean to like that in about 18 hours. There is no...

    Algae issue

I've been doing water changes about every two weeks. Even when I have done them more frequently it hasn't seemed to make a difference. This is a 28 gallon nano cube with the LED hood. I'm wondering if the LEDs are making the situation worse. In my old 24 nano with a regular light hood the...

    Algae issue

I'm having an algae issue with my tank. (as you can see in the picture below). The issue is mainly on the glass. My CUC keeps the rocks cleaned. The picture shows how much algae gets on the glass after just one day. Is there anything I can add to the tank (additive or filter wise) to filter...

Two porcupine puffers in the same tank?

Has anyone had success or trouble with two porcupine puffers in the same tank? Is this acceptable or a bad idea?

is it common for a porkupine puffer to sometimes rest on the bottom or in a cave? Also is freeze dried krill acceptable to feed them?

    Algae question

Ok, that makes sense. I think part of the problem is that some of it is on and around corals or other places where my cuc won't go (due to having to climb on soft corals). Any suggestions for those areas? Those are the ones that concern me the most cause brushing that area to get it of harms...

    Algae question

After poking around in another thread about algae, I think its Derbesia sp. Here is a picture I found. This is not my tank, but I think it would look like this if I let it grow uncontrolled. Any thoughts or recommendations on how to handle?

    Algae question

Thanks for the response. To clarify, its not bubble algae. I've seen it before and this is not it. When I've tried t o syphon it, it stuck to the rock, so syphoning doesn't work. I sometimes use a toothbrush to scrub it loose. That gets most of it, but not all of it. Plus, scrubbing...

    Algae question

I've had my 24 gallon nano set up for a couple years. It includes fish and corals. Everything has been going well. But I'm getting some algae cropping up. (see pictures) I'm wondering what I can do to address this. Is there something I can treat the tank wth or what steps can be taken...

    Damsel questions

So it sounds like 3 damsels of different types is better than 3 damsels of the same kind..... Thats what I was hoping as looking at 3 different looking fish is better than looking at 3 of the same fish.

    Damsel questions

I know that damsels tend to be rather aggressive fish. How are they if all the fish in your tank are damsels? The tank would have many hiding places. Is having 3 or 4 damsels - all the same kind, about the same as having one of 3 or 4 different kinds of damsels?
