Well thanks for the insight. I already bought the 55g a month or so ago. And have a green chromis, 55 lb rock, and a clown and a very small clean up crew. I do 10% water changes every Sunday. I plan on getting reefs this winter. I also am getting a 125g for a clown trigger, a Picasso trigger...

I'm hoping to use my 55g for a reef tank, and I always here about the bigger the tank, the more stable it is and the more room for error it will allow you. So how hard would it be to keep reef in a 55g vs a 125g? Or a 15g nano ?

ok, So I'll have an additional tank, where I will have a "sump" go to.. and the "sump" is the part that actually pumps the water from one tank to another, is this correct ? and in this additional tank, there will be a few dividers, and in one section I can grow "fuge" which is a form of algie...

Ok I'm going to get a sump. Or a fuge tank, do you HAVE to drill your tank in order for it to work? Or can you just have one pipe in, one pipe out?

thanks, so the skimmer won't take away any physical food from the clean-up crew, just the bad stuff that is invisible to the naked eye that originally came from food and waste .. is that a somewhat correct way of dumbing it down to my understanding ?

Yes the 20g is going to be on standby at all times. I'm going to keep it running the entire time. I have two shrimp in now. (raw). Btw how many gallons per hour is recommended for coral?

Thanks.. after I posted the question about the light I came to the same conclusion, mostly from reveiws on amazon ... I am like you as I would like to buy ANYTHING.. . so those lights are out for me ... How bout a test kit ? should I just go to my LFS and pick any 'ol one up ?
