gonna have live sand on the bottom. I plan on keeping live rock, fish, an anemone or mushroom, and crabs. I already have ammonia, nitrate, nitrite test kits and a hydrometer to test salinity.

I just plan on having live rock...a bubble tip anemone or a mushroom...fish..and crabs. I haven't bought anything yet other then just the tank, rock, and sand, and heater.

I would guess calcium deposits sicne they are hard and white in color. If you have a master test kit...test for calcium and if the level is higher then the kit says it should be, then calcium deposits are what they are.

I have a filter on my faucet that takes care of that. I just need to know a good conditioner to help make the tap water into viable saltwater over the next month.
