I am just trying to find the best alternatives.
There wasnt much I could do, it was 6:15 in the morning when I noticed it and I was about to leave for work. I knew not to rush in lowering the temp although it did lower by itself. I just unplugged the defective heater and then by the time I returned from work, the tank was down to about 72. I had an old glass heater that I had for my hospital tank, I put that in until I got the heater controller. One of my feather dusters, which had a 4" feather, left its tube and then died later that day. I lost a cleaner shrimp and about 3 or 4 peppermint shrimp. My Copperband Butterfly also died as did about 8 mushrooms. Some mushrooms shriveled up and still have not expnded to the size they were before the heater malfunctioned.
By the way, this is my 1000th post.
