looks like your right on track!! the ammonia is the first to spike and then the rest. leave it for a week and just keep testing. you will notice spikes in the other two and then they should go back down and your good to go. the place i got the lights from doesnt normally sell them i just got them to order them for me and i am paying whole sale price

im gonna try this fish store that is going out-of-buiness tomorrow and see if i can find some lights there. they have like 35% off al there dry goods and 50% of all live stock. so i might just get all my snails and shimp for the 10+20g and put them in my 55g until im ready. but that is as long as the prices are good

ok so searching around today i found a set of lights for my GF's 20g tell me what you think. i havnt bought them yet but they guy will sell them to me for $100 for both
Current USA light details:24 inch 2x65 Watt Current USA PowerCompact Dual Satellite Fixture Dual Daylight 6,700k/10,000k : 1 x 65 watt
Coralife Light: Coralife 24 Inch Aqualight W/ 2-65W Straight Pin Base And 2-3/4W Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow LED Lamps Two 3/4 watt Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow
he has had them on his tank for a lillte while and he has been running all sorts of anenomies and stuff. so if you guys could let me know if this would work that would be great cuz it would save me like $200 if i dont have to buy her a new light.

o so i wne tto this fish store that was having a big sale and boughts a few new items. i got another 8#'s of LR for my 10g and a few small peices for my GF's 20g. i also found this clams shell that the guy said will make a nice deco. that he gave me free when i told him it was for my gf. i also bought 5 hermits(very small) and 10 snails(3 med, 7 smalls) that i will eventually put in the 10g, but for now they sit in the 55g til it all cycles. i should have some pics up soon.

I would try to low ball the guy on the prices because you'll need to get bulbs anyway... power compacts are worthless in my opinion... once I went MH, no turning back... T5HOs are nice too.

looking good man. back to lights..i went thru 3, count 3 K-2 viper clamp on lights. be careful. these fixtures have plastic clamps. with in 1-2 months i went thru 3 fixtures. if i was you i would invest in the sunpod. if you are going to get a clamp on, get the aqualight advanced. it has 3 screws as opposed to the viper, which has 2 screws to go onto your tank. i was extremely lucky that my eggcrate cover was on otherwise the fixture would have went straight into my hex.

i am very happy with the lay out. i would love to get the sunpod but money is running lower as far as fish tank goes with x-mas coming up and all. i was hoping to save some moeny on the lights (well on the 20g that is) buy buying them used with new bulbs. that's y i have been looking at those. the sunpod would be great to have cuz i can just set the lights and never really worry bout it. but it would be a while before i could even think about buying it. i would really like to find it much cheaper i just dont know if i can. thanks guys keep up with the comments.

you can beat that price... I've seen that sun pod go for almost half that used... keep lookin.. and people often lie about how long fixtures are used... yeah you can support anenomes and any coral in the 10gallon... sps would work if placed directly under the bulb (middle of the tank) near the top of the rock...

will do thanks man. im gonna make him an ofer for $75.00 and see if he takes it.
use car buying techniques... "salt creep" "that bulb looks way older than 2 months" "scratches" etc... lol.. "I'm looking at a few other fixtures too"

picky picky...

asking to see the original receipt or order form is evil... nice...
"well I'll have to assume its a year old since they've discontinued them for some time... I'll have to buy another bulb which is gonna be another $100" just say you want a giesemann megachrome coral since its a $100 bulb to make it sound like you're going to have to dump a bunch of money in it anyway. (I have one... I would recommend either actinics to go with it or an astrolux 14,000k or phoenix 14,000k which are half the price and have slightly more blue to them.)
