Fuggin y2k. I spent 3 hours in the data center on 12/31/1999 from 11 pm to 2 am "just in case." It was the worst new years i ever had. Me and the other tech guys actually rigged up the training machins for some quake and spent most of the night in the training room playing quake while the help desk phones lit up like christmas trees from users callin in to ask what the heck to do (pre midnight) and then calling back to say everything was ok (post midnight).
The world will end when I say it will end. But If I am dead before I announce the end of the world, you all will have to wait around in suspense.

Yep, I am sure my company had a lot of pissed off tech guys that New Year's Eve. I had to test a lot of my jobs to see if they would still work in a Y2K scnario. Never had a single problem.

I wish I knew for sure, because if I new for sure that the end was 1012, I'd be having one hell of good time with my credit cards NOW.

My point of view….I wouldn’t worry about this life…I would want the big Guy upstairs to take care of me and my family…I don’t mind dying if God who is in charge, will wake us up again in a better place. So if I am at peace with him…I have no concerns. My last days would be spent making sure I am at peace with him.

Well there's the rub..Everyone will die sooner or later. However, the good book says he has a Kingdom he is preparing for his favorites…I really want to be in that calculation.
Since eternity is forever, it only makes sense to make sure you are among his selected.
The entire book is full of instructions of what he likes and dislikes in a person.. To exercise yourself on being that good person (according to the book, not based on our own opinion)and getting rid of the bad (again based on the book) is a life long journey. Unless you have faith that he is who he says he is, and will do what he says he will…you would not make such a life changing effort. You can’t fake it, at least not for very long.
It is my personal choice..

love god and that should be enough

Last thing then I will drop this…too much when you start on religion…it would take us to the end of time
Without reading the book, how do you know
how to love God or anything else about him?
Pagan religions once sacrificed children to the fire…Humans have not changed over the years, they may not sacrifice children to fire anymore, but people have always ASSUMED they know what God wants, and how to show him love.

I spent New Years Eve Y2K on a beach in Baja far away from anything and had no idea if the world as I knew it ended for about a week until we paddled into a small town and the power was still on. Good times for sure.
