Run hypo. dont add any treatments. Get them eating look for signs of flukes or velvet. After they are eating dose with prazipro for the correct time. Then in about 5 weeks they will be dt ready

exactly, treat their food with garlic and anything you can get to enhance their health.
are you planning on using a divider when their in the QT?

I wouldn't do Hypo, I would do Prazipro and Cupramine. Cupramine is not that harsh. I would be curious what AquaKnight or SrFisher say as they are better QT experts than I, but that is what I would do.

Personally I wouldn't copper an angel unless I absolutely had to. For other fish like triggers, yeah I have run cupramine right from the time they went in the QT. But not for an angel, I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't add anything right away, just healthy food with vitamins and garlic. Put it in the QT, observe the fish, then decide to treat if you need to.

Hey GTD...been a while. Kirk told me I should put my 2 cents in here.
I 100% treat all QT with cupramine. Depending on the fish I add between 50-100% of the treatment level.
I never treat until the fish is eating because medications tend to lower the fish's appetite
I do copper to ensure there is nothing else like Velvet that could take my fish down. It is precautionary and despite the myths, copper is safe to use when you monitor it.
I have used copper on every kind of angel including my bandits, clarion, and conspic. I also use copper with butterflys (from wrought irons down to my pakistani and moorish idol) and others without any effects. You have to test the PH everyday and sometimes multiple times in a day to ensure that the PH stays around 8.1 as copper will make it drop to below 7.5. I tend to just add buffer every 1-2 days to keep it steady.
Also, during water changes make sure that the copper is replaced.
Do NOT use amquel or UV during copper it makes it 10x as toxic and will kill the fish.
I use prazi in conjuntion with the copper and administer at least 2 rounds of it.
Once the copper is done for 14-18 days I start on hypo. I hypo for 4-6 weeks and then bring the SG back up over 2 weeks or so. Then if the fish is eating like a pig, I add it to the DT.

Hey guys !
I have a lot to update on
I got a call Monday afternoon from the supplier with the Passer Angel, and he said the few that they have left, are not too good.
So the next shipment is till next Monday. Its my first time doing business with them, but I was recommend to them by Kirk
and I really appreciate the fact that they are sending quality livestock and I don't mind the wait. As for the Queen, I got her yesterday, and she is gorgeous. She is huge, maybe 6 1/2 inches. But I almost fainted when I received the box. The box weighed around 45 lbs, and the bottom of it was wet and sagging. I open it up, only to find the Styrofoam box, cracked in three places and the bag had a hole in it. I took a pic of the box,I'll post it later. Also the bag was half full, I was
. Anyways I QT her for 2 hours, and she's doing fine, and I'm looking forward to feeding her tonight. So, should I put in the divider now to get the tank ready for the Passer, coming in next Tuesday. Or should I just wait till I get the Passer ?
Camp, its been a while. You're the master of the angels
. Always a pleasure to hear from you. So with the Cupramine, I should add half of the small bottle as the first dose -? Then the rest of it the following week-? I'll definitely wait till they're eating everything and anything,I always do.
I have the Seachem test kit, for copper. Is that ok -? I like the fact of adding the buffer everyday. I'll go with that. Is there any such thing as overdosing with the P.H. buffer-?
Once the copper is done for 14-18 days I start on hypo. I hypo for 4-6 weeks and then bring the SG back up over 2 weeks or so. Then if the fish is eating like a pig, I add it to the DT. - WOW That's a longtime Camp. I never thought there is a need to go with Hypo, after using copper. But I won't doubt you. Sounds like a plan to me. Any tips on introducing the Passer to the QT next week -? I have the Queen in the 55 gal QT right now, then I'll put the divider in when I get the Passer next week. Thanks for your help man !
So Crypt, I have a vote from you to Hypo and Prazi. I have no problems with Prazi, its a great product. Hypo, I did once, but wayyyyyy back.
Skate020, I always use Garlic,Marine C, Vita-Chem and Selcon. I mix them up during the week. I have a divider ready to go. :)
Kirk, most likely I'll go with Cupramine. Probably in two weeks. I should get the Passer next Tuesday. Then the following week I'll go with Prazi, then Cupramine. I wonder how the Queen will react to the Passer next week. I'll go with Crypt idea of taking a pic of the fish, and stick it out the outside of the tank. Any thanks a lot for getting CCampbell to chime in :)
Petey, I'll make sure they're eating very well before I put anything in tank. I need to stock up on some more Vitamins this week. I can't wait to go home and see the Queen. I'm at work right now, so I'll post a few pics in a couple hours.

I said do Hypo because you were afraid to use copper again. I copper my angels. I use copper on all my fish. My Emperor BiColor and Flame angels along with my blueface when I had him. They were fine. You just have to test test and retest. Like I have said before CC stated. Get them eating. Medications supress appetites. I also always apply copper and prazipro together on my angels. I dont care if I dont see any dieseases. A healthy stress free fish can live its entire life with ICH and never show any signs. You place a new fish in your tank and boom stress you are back where you were a few months and many pages ago.
Also print the pic out of a passer for the queen. See how she reacts.

Just make sure the ph is over 8.0 and not above 8.4. I would test every single day, Copper can really affect PH.
Where you are getting the Passer from has a Vendor Spot on R.C. (where I know you go on as well), you can ask them for an update on the fish. A guy named Max used to answer there, he is really helpful.

Sounds good Crypt. So Cupramine it is, how do you dose it-? With the cap from the bottle or a teaspoon -? I've been pretty much ich free, ever since I started the QT
And I plan to keep it that way. I'm working on printing the pic. I'll do two for the display, and a passer pic for the Queen. I fed her last night, she ate some pellets and was pretty reluctant to touch some seaweed. Then an amazing thing happen, I pointed to it, and she started to take a few bites off of it. That was awesome ! She looks comfy in the QT, I wonder how will she react to me dividing the tank

Kirk, when I start using Cupramine, I'll definitely check the PH everyday, thanks ! I found the Vendor Spot, I just sent him an email. Nice tip
So here are some pics.....the first one is the box that the Queen came in. It was in very very bad shape. Then followed by the Queen and I took some DT Tank shots. The Queen is huge, maybe 6.5. Much bigger than my Emperor

Hey GT!
Sorry I haven't posted in forever. It's either been I've been distracted here with something, or saved your thread to read later and completely forgot to post. You've gotten some great help, and the fish look great.
Cupramine is either drops per gallon or mL. You dose half one day, then the second half the dext say. Half strength is 16drops, or 1mL for every 10.5 gallons. Since my QT's are large, I use a syringe to measure, and empty into a container (cause it's only a 2mL syringe, and I need more then that ), then slowly add in the Cupramine the container to the QT. So in theory a 55gal QT uses very roughly 5.24mL per half dose.
Man, that angel
is goregous. It's 'technically' a Queen IMO, but boy, if Townsend's were an actual species that would be the poster child. Looks great. Can't wait to see the Passer too.

In my 150 I have 3 large Angels also an Emperor a Koran and I got lucky a LFS I frequent near me had a Passer some one Special ordered then BACKED OUT OF. He wanted an Adult not a Juvi. With passers youget what you can. I took him instead. Koran is changing Emperor is changing the passer however being the last still is the Boss of the 3 they RUN when they see him go for the food. Now if I can get the freaking Tangs to agree. Naso 2 Atlantic Blus Sailfin Blue Hippo and a Surgeon.
