What kind of budget do you have in mind for lighting? Do you just want PC's? I am a big fan of the retro fits if your hood works with it, and it looks like it would. Do you have a wattage goal? 400 or so?
I have about 4 inch of sand in my fuge, no mud.

I read people putting a plain mouse pad under their pump to stop the vibration. Which is pretty much what I have except mine came with the pump.
For lighting, it really depends what you like. You don't need anything special for FOWLR. Personally I like the look of metal halide, with the blue tint. Plus it makes all the colors really stand out. But PC lighting works just as well.

2 of these would give you just under 400 watts, I have 2 of the 48 inch ones on my 8 foot tank and am very happy with them.
Coralife 36 Inch Aqualight Compact Fluor. Retrofit Kit W/ 2-96W Lamps Square Pin.

Hey KJR ! How are you-? I was wondering if I go with the Corallife 72in, will I be ok -? Thanks ! Here are the specs:
I found a -Coralife Lunar Aqualight 72" 384w, that includes 5 - 470nm LED Lunar Lights.The specs are below:
Coralife now offers its famous Aqualight Deluxe Series Strip Lights with a Moon Glow Lunar System. This unique light combined with 10,000k daylight and 03 Actinic offers a complete reef lighting system.
Lunar lights add a 470nm soft, low light for a complete 24 hour system. The 470nm lights create a unique shimmering effect that has to be seen to believe. It also allows you to observe nocturnal behaviors, and helps promote lunar spawning cycles.
All Lunar Aqualights feature a built in electronic ballast, two cooling fans, separate on/off switches and plugs for timer control (3 Total), a highly polished reflector, a sleek, stylish aluminum housing, and an acrylic splash guard and lens.

Hey guys ! I did the two tower approach, it looks great. I will post pics soon. I was wondering about the Tunze's. Right now I have each one in the corner of the tank, with them aimed towers the center of the tank, so it should bounce around. Is that ok-? I'm getting the Coralife 72in next week. I ended up changing the Mag 24 again, its just vibrating too much. I got my old Lifetech from my 175 pushing 3300 gph. I know its a lot, but I "T" it off, into 4 different return lines. I still waiting for the water to get clear. I would have been sooner, put I keep messing around with the plumbing. I do have very tiny bubbles, coming from the LR in the sump, then it see it across the refugium where the cheato suppose to be. Is that ok-? Other than that, I think I'll be ok to get some nemos next week.

Lookin good!
Are you cycling? I'm guessing as you look to have rocks against it, your going to let the background do what it's gonna do, in other words not clean it and let the coraline and algae grow in? I keep my rocks away from it and try to clean it once a week, but it's quite a chore.
Forget Nemos, once your cycle in done, in with the Sargassum Trigger

Seriously.

Looks good! The rock will look 10x better once the tank ages a bit and they color up. I think you will make SRFisher proud with that Eco-Aqualizer
. Agreed with the Sargassum. Hottest thing since sliced bread. Everyone's doing it
!!

Thanks guys ! Hey KJR, that Sargassum Trigger looks sweet. Is it similar to the blue throat-? Where can I get one -? I gotta work on a stock list, some tangs, angels a wrasse, puffer and lion.
Also, Aqua, what are you using to keep your flexible tubing tight-? I've used those metal clamps for the tubing along the tank, which of course is not submerged. But for the main pump, I've used a couple of plastic ties, will that be ok-? Also my refugium has 2in of mud, with 2in of sand on top of that, should I add more sand-?

My intake/return lines are hard PVC plumbed. For my skimmer, I use the braided vinyl tubing.
Signifcantly stronger and not having to use clamps with barbed fittings. But mainly because it won't kink up overtime and slow the flow down. Not having to use clamps either with the standard clear tubing on my phosban reactor or my UV/fuge feed.

Yeah, Sargassum and Blue Jaw are very closely related and both make very good first fish in due to their "Trigger hardiness", and they do better getting comfortable in a less crowded tank. I use the same tubing as Aqua, no issues, I prefer the "quiet" of tubing and the obvious flexibility.
I will PM you where you should be able to find a Sargassum....I have never seen them here at SWF.com

Hey Aqua ! I see what you mean about the braided tubing. I got the regular one. I'll change mine to the braided ones,I see Home Depot have them, thanks. I didn't buy any heaters yet, what would you recommend ? I got the PM KJR, thanks. You think I am ok with 2in of mud and 2in of sand in the refugium, or I need more sand-? Thanks

I have a Finnex 300W titanium heater. I have about 165gals total. For your setup, I'd probably do 2 200W/250W titanium heaters, because all the way up there in the great white north
, they probably going to be working overtime. I don't think my house ever dips below 65°F in the coolest winter days. And there's just no guarantees with heaters. One gonzo-big 500watt heater can definitely cook a tank if it ever goes south.
I'd add some more sand, at least 5" IMO.

Hey Aqua ! I'll get some more sand tomorrow thanks. I've check out some sites for the 200 w Finnex heater, but they are sold out. They have 500w, you think two would be ok-? Or more -? They are rated up to 130 gallons, also they have a Deluxe Temperature Controller. What you think-?

I stand corrected, I don't have a Finnex. I replaced the Finnex (died) with a WON Brothers PRO-HEAT IC TITANIUM HEATER. More or less the same thing. 500watt might be fine. Not sure about 2 that big. How high do you have to warm the tank usually (far how under 79° is the average room temp)

Thanks Aqua ! I picked up 3 Koralia's # 4 off of ----. So I know I am good for flow. I got the two Tunze 6060's and the Koralias.
I got the Tunzes on each corner of the tank,in the middle facing the center. Any ideas where I should put the Koralias -?

and having 2 or 3 different heaters about 150-250 watts each is better than getting one large one incase it goes out when you arent home. I have 3 in my sump, all marineland stealths a 200watt and 2 75 watts, I have had different heaters and have had 2 different ones die when i had my 35g setup.
