Nice buck. Beautiful country behind you. What state do you hunt in? Do you rifle or bow hunt? I am getting ready to go back to Virgina for some whitetail hunting.

Jpa, where did you get the aluminum from for your light rack? I am going to be building my canopy for a 125g and was really wanting to put the lights on a rack. BTW your tank looks awsome! One of the many reasons why I want my own house....

Home depot and Lowes both have it.

but it's $$$. but cheaper than buying actual reflectors.
The reflectors are store bought. The light rack they are on was built. It was not that expensive. Less than $100 if I remember right.

Alright put the bow down for a minute and pick up a camera! If you got time for typing you got time for clicking. Just kidding but hows your duncan growing. Mine is going nuts its started with 4heads and is now like twelve, I have had it about 3 months.

i just saw this thread and im amazed and inspired. i built a tank in my wall also about a month ago. im about to get my rock in a few days. i would love to eventually build a bigger scale tank like yours but im new to the hobby and have lots to learn first.
i dont have much room to work with 36'' long 12'' deep 16'' tall. i noticed you had foam board under your tank, why? i put mine straight on plywood. i also messed up i didnt put my plywood over my drywall it just butts up to it so if i was to bring my tank out flush with drywall it would be sitting 1/2'' on drywall.....i can change this although it would require removing all the water something i might do anyways to put my rock in. also i am setting up a 2.5gal RO thing so i want to completely replace the water.
ill be back to ask more questions later, any insight on in wall builds would be appreciated thx!

front drywall

back drywall

i noticed im going to have to raise my top 2x4 a couple inches and let the drywall freeghang. my deep is so small its hard to find a good light that will work unless i do this.
ps- nice buck, season opens here in minnesota tomorrow

Well I finally have some time to mess with the tank, now that I am done hunting for a while.
Everything is doing great except some of my acans. It seems my tank doesn't really like them. My guess is not enough nutrients. When I was feeding them often they seemed to be doing better. I just didn't have the time to feed. Also I think they were getting blasted with too much light.
My SPS are all thriving. I went to the LFS for the first time in a couple months today. I picked up a doz. pepp. shrimp for some aptasia I noticed popping up. A doz. Nass snails and a pair of Disbar anthias to replace a couple Barttlets that jumped.
I don't have any new pics of the display right now, but have a few shots of the sump and fuge. I increased the flow across the top of the sump and it helped clear up the crap forming on the surface.

The tank is coming along nicely. Great colors on the SPS. Congratulations on the buck as well. Did you ever get a chance at the "Big One"?
