Then why did he say he would spend $300 billion for this scheme of his? He plans to take that out of this $840 billion bailout, or ask for it when he gets into office? So the government devaluates my property that I spent my hard-earned money buying and improving for the possibility of selling it for a profit down the road, just so I can save the American taxpayers money, and save the deadbeats who bought too much house from getting evicted?
Why should I be the one who has to "take the bullet"? Sorry, learn to live within your means, or get you a nice cardboard box under the bridge.
Here's an idea. Let's say I own a $500,000 house, and I'm in good standing with my bank and my payments are up to date. My neighbor the deadbeat, can't keep his payments up, and is on the brink of foreclosure. Because of the real estate bust, the houses in my neighborhood are only selling for $400,000. So McCain comes in, buys my neighbor's $500,000 note, devalues his house to $400,000, then gives him a $400,000 note so he doesn't have to move out. My neighbor is very happy. Meanwhile, the value of my house just dropped $100,000. So to help me with my bailout, McCain can cut me a check for $100,000 to make up the difference, rewarding me for being a responsible person and paying my debts.
I agree with this
I need a shower

Don't worry about the gap in the polls, worry about the direction they are moving. Unless McCain can set the wayback machine to go back and oppose the bailout I don't know how he gets the momentum back unless there is a ripsnortin October surprise in his arsenal
Hows this for starters:
Muhammad Hasan Chandoo
Wahid Hamid
Antoin 'Tony' Rezko
Nadhmi Auchi
Valerie Jarrett
Ayers
Rev Wright
Fr.Flager
and last but not least
ACORN

But what direction are they moving, Zogby had a 4 point lead down to a 2 point lead today? I've been "polled" before, it was for one of these "major polls" and every question was loaded. It was like voting for the amendment changes, some of the stuff was worded where saying voting yes was voting no. It was a joke.

There are different kinds of polls with different motives behind each. When a campaign or a group like Zogy polls you it will be straight to the point because they want accurate information. Then you get the push polls and yes campaigns do those too but those are designed to push you in a certain direction

If the mainstream media picks up the ACORN story maybe. Here you have a group with numerous cases of voter fraud and the damned Democrats are still trying to give them money.

In a marketing class (an advanced one where we developed poll questions and stuff,) we looked at a couple polls developed by the media as a supposed "unbiased poll". Where they actually asked different questions based on your party affiliation. And the questions were all designed for you to have the same reaction every time. You know, a type of question like would you make a decision to kill 25% of the population or save 50%. Or Kill 50% or save 75%. And all designed to show support to some liberal view. It was rediculous.
Then you can start playing with sample size, distribution of demographics. There just is so much to play with to manipulate your results where the average person won't notice. I don't put much weight it polls.

The national pollsters have a vested interest in being accurate. They try to get it right.

Ill ask you this, right now is the value of your home going up or down? Would you rathe the bailout go to the WallStreet bankers or to the American taxpayers who are footing the bill. Are you the only one who pays taxes in this country?I understand your point on those who over extended and i agree that they shouldnt get bailed out ,but what about those who are affected by the economy?
The housing bubble has burst....your home is no longer worth what it was last month.

Actually, I just got my appraisal from my county taxing district, and it's gone up another 12% from last year. I bought my house in '92 for $125,000. Right now, Bexar County Appraisal District has it at $235,000. Last year, it was appraised at $210,000. So for me, my house is increasing in value just as I hoped it would. The housing bubble hasn't burst just yet in the San Antonio area. Maybe in yours, but not mine.
I made sure having money for my house payment was top priority. In the 16 years I've been in this house, I've been laid off twice from the companies I worked for. I found a way to make sure I made my house payment, no matter what it took. So in your mind, I have to risk all the equity I've put in my house for the last 16 years because some bozo neighbor bought a house he couldn't afford? The homeowners who overextended their finances are just as much to blame than the bankers who gave them the loans. Affected by the economy?
Learn to make due. A good friend of mine lived in Flint, Michigan when the jobs and the housing market blew up there. He made the decision to move down here, and hasn't regretted it. Is that considered drastic? Maybe for some people. But you have to do what you need to for the best interests of your family.
Instead of giving these people an easy out, make them tighten their belts and suck it up. Can't afford your house? Get out of it the best you can and scale down. Sell that $500,000 house for $400,000, take the $100,000 loss in the chin and buy a $250,000 house. Sure it sucks. But that's what happens when the economy fails. Better the individual who couldn't manage their finances taking the hit, than someone like me who did keep their finances in order.

Actually, when this election first started, I agreed with many of McCain's views and policies. But his admiration for war turned me off, and when he picked that BDB Sarah Palin, that put the nail in the coffin in it for me. I don't agree with everything Obama believes in, but just the thought of the remote possibilty that Palin could run this country scares the 'you know what' out of me.

ACORN has admitted they had some 'rogue employees' that went to extremes when signing up people to vote. Because they are being scrutinized so much in the media, they are tightening their audit practices and getting rid of the bad seeds. I'm glad they caught it now. It's 27 days before the vote. Catch it now, so no one can cry fould after the voting is over.

I dont think it could be done now unless you disqualify all the early ballots and redo them. I dont know who came up with the early ballot but it just invites this sort of thing.Acorn is guilty of a lot of things if you look into their history.

Why she is probably the only politician in this race who actually thinks what you think about that.

lol, this isn't the only time it has happened, they've been fined, had some of their heads tossed in jail, others convicted and sentenced to community service.

In this case the allegations are true.

I posted links back to the 04 election and ACORN was pulling the same crap back them. In 1997 some of these crooks came into Missoula Montana with the new party and were getting college students who lived in dorm housing to register to vote which was against state law.
This year looks like the most ramped yet. It appears ACORN has done nothing to solve this "problem".
