i use tap water and have had no problems. my tank is about 3 months old and i have loads and loads of pods, coraline growth, etc. maybe myt waters just good

How much light do you have on your tank though. . .

that does not mean everyone will have the same luck and should just do the same because it seems to be working for you.
If you have the means to do so you should be using RO water for your tank.

Could you give me the specifics on your, skimmer, heater, powerhead and filter? I want to do the same set up and your stuff looks pretty good. Would like to know what they are so I can look for them. Thanks

true, maybe i have good tap water idk, but its a 20g tank with a total of 80 watts of lighting. but yes Distilled or RO water if you can afford it.

I have always been told that bubbles are bad in a saltwater tank. Why are you using the air tubes on your power head? I took mine off when i got it. And is that enough flow in your tank? I have 640 gph of flow in my 30 gallon tank. I know its like 20x the amount of water you have in your tank, so 30 gallons times 20 is 600. The air bubbles just kinda bug me a little bit, just wondering why you chose to use the air line.

idk i cant even notice it when i look at it and corals need water movement...so i might get another..and the bubbles went away

looks great! i second getting the RODI unit, i got one for christmas and looove it! the tank looks much brighter & happier, plus i finally got rid of diatoms. money well spent.

um, it just ocurred to me that i didnt actually spend the money... but still.
