Let's hope they don't fight, but I guess I'll find out. I'm going to make sure he is a very good size before I put him in there. She could be a girl, if the sexing is anything similar to the fuzzy. That would be nice if it were.
I'm a night worker, my sleep habits are all jacked up. My job is very adrenaline pumped, so it's hard for me to turn it off when I go home.

Great news. Barberi are also sexable. So, I suspect mine may very well be a female. She's still pretty tiny to tell, but she has very small pectoral fins and few stripes. So it's looking good.
Took a video of feeding time. Everyone was out except the littoralis, but he was out and ate from a stick earlier.
Feeding Time.

You see the hair algae there on that bivalve in the front! I don't get it. There's no hair algae anywhere in the tank. This bivalve just sits in the middle of the sandbed and has been there at least 3 years.... and then it gets hair algae. You would think there's be some nuisance algae SOMEWHERE else.
I guess I should remove him and clean him up.
Um... ya.... and even Husband and Wife teams disagree.... like about how much food to pour in the tank at a time. Ignore that little part.... we just have such different ways of feeding. But if I suddenly get nuisance algae, you know who I'll be blaming (looks at the heavy handed husband).

Nice video, thanks! For some reason, I thought you were stick feeding all these guys individually!
(That's why I was interested in seeing you do it
)
Very cool anyway! Looks like everyone is getting along well! Even the anthias!
I would definitely get rid of the hair algae before it spreads! And tell hubby to lighten up on the food! lol

I DO stick feed them individually. But now that there is anthias in with them, I have to feed the anthias daily. If I can, I'm going to see if I can totally stick train all 3 of the anthias. I don't like that fountain of mysis going in my scorp tank... that's just asking for algae issues.
I fed them from the stick before the hubby fed the anthias. I'll get him to video as I feed next time.
Could ya hear me complaining when he poured the food in? LOL. But there's an expression around here with 2 people involved in the hobby "If you don't like how I do it, do it yourself". O.O

Yes, that's why I made the comment. Just teasing, cuz I know he is lurking around here, somewhere in the shadows!!

the "old school" rule of thumb is to feed what will be consumed in about 2 mins. you'll notice at 2 mins (the length of the video), there is very little food left, and by 3 mins there was NOTHING left. additionally, Renee had just stick fed the fish, so they weren't quite as hungry as on the "off" days.
yes, we have different ways of doing certain things, so the "if you don't like it..." thing has worked well.

Umm...saw your name and was like " uh-oh". (Can't find a smilie for this)
I was just teasing, and certainly would not question either one of you when it comes to the care of your fishies.
I, also, tend to "overfeed" if you go by what most people say and I also have one spot of hair algae in my tank, but it keeps my sea hare fed.
