A Great Man has Left Us

My dad had a massive stroke on Saturday. He left us today. We had just enough time to say goodbye during a brief wakeful period Saturday night.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam serving multiple tours in each. He has helped hundred of veterans and their family members as the local VA advocate. The best dad ever.
He will be missed.

Dam man. At least you got the chance to say goodbye. May not help much now but trust me, it's something. I didn't get that chance with either of my parents but then again they didn't suffer through a long lingering illness either.

Hey, man...very sorry to hear this.
Sounds like he was a great guy, who helped many, many people.
As a veteran, myself...I thank him for his service, compassion and unselfishness.

you were given a gift...albeit brief , a gift on Saturday. I wished I had that with my grandma (who raised me) and mother in law. Both massive strokes.
The other gift is his legacy of service and heorism.
I wish peace and solace upon you and your family during this difficult time.
