My partner says "Buy it, Buy it, Buy it", then we went ahead and bought it with a 30G Oceanic Reef Ready Sump/Fuge system with a mag return 700GPH. It's got all the plumbing I need to start with. I spent $1365.00 on everything after discount (I get my 10% discount for being reef club member). I'm asking a friend of mine who I bought dry rock rubbles from before to see when he's getting a new order in. I'm gonna get those instead of bio-balls. And some for the display system of course, I used up every bit of the rocks I got from him last time. I'm now stumped on lighting, I really want to do VHO with MH's again, but the guy at the LFS suggested not to do VHO and just go with 2x250w HQI MH 20k's. But I really want to do VHO's!! I know I will have to drill some holes in the canopy for pc fans, air circulation is a must! Another friend of mine suggested that I should still do VHO Actinics with MH's like I wanted to. We're gonna take down the 46 bow as soon as this tank is ready. ALL my corals are moving into this one, EVERY Zoa gets dipped before going into this tank!!!! I don't want to take any risk for nudibranch. Any new coral goes into my existing tank for QT. All my fish moves into the new tank, gonna use those 2 undestructible Chromis of mine to test the water after cycling, then moving one by one into the new tank. Gonna put the Yellow Tang from the 46bow into this large one along with my Naso Tang. I hope they get along!!! It would be hell catching that Peppermint Shrimp for the new tank as with everyone else in the tank. Then the Trigger moves into my 55, then some Heniochus Butterfly moves into the 46bow for QT, then move'em into the 55, then down the 46bow front to sell. We're planning a new fish stocking list for the 90, a few fire fish and a few bagaii cardinals, maybe a few more small ones, not much more. I can't wait until I get it started, the tank gets delivered Wednesday, I already brought home the sump/fuge and the pump. Now saving money for the new lights, no more coral shoppin' for quite sometime!!! :happyfish
I have to say that I am VERY Jellous!!! I am still 2 years and 10 months out till I get my new tank! That wasn't a impulse buy at all....lol
.... darn those significant others!!! I hate peer pressure!!!!
:hilarious
But congrats on your new tanks.... and that price doesnt sound too bad at all for that set up!!! THAT IS GREAT!!! So how many tanks does that make it that you have? And now you just have a LOT bigger tank to move when you decied to !!!!!
:hilarious

This makes the 6th tank, don't remind me about moving!!!

by this summer when everything is paid for, even the tank! We have to get another tank, should of just bought that 75 gallon with stand along with the 90 today. It was only $365. Get it all done and over with. Then I could of taken down all 3 of my freshwater tanks and combined them all into one!!! Now I have 6 tanks to clean until the new one is ready for everything, then awhile later for QT new fish in the 46bow, then the bowfront goes. I have a smaller QT tank, but I hate to take it out to use while one is already setup and ready to use. I will eventually end up with only 3 tanks, 55, 75, and 90. Peer pressure suxs I tell ya, I was sooooooooo darn embaressed when I took out my credit card without noticing it was expired and the darn credit card company wouldn't let me process over the phone and said I need to go home to get my new card, I dunno where I put it. I just swiped it onto another card, oh well...Good thing I keep empty cards on hand! I'm surprised the credit card company didn't call me though....It was a large purchase after one year of no usage. I'm still stressed over the new lighting thing.....Still thinking about what I should do.....
No other news here, all the corals are doing well, no new hitchhikers.... :happyfish

Well lighting really depends on what you plan on doing Coral wise.... As you know it doesnt do fish much diffrence ......so.................... What Corals do you plan to keep???? I am going to go out on a limb and guess here........ ZOO'S????? Well with Zoo's you can have the VHO's and do fine.... Just weight your options of Corals wanted to lighting to cost...... then come to your conclusion! Man I am just dreaming right now about my future tank and you are debating weather or not to purchase two in one day!! lol
I HATE CREDIT CARD COMPANIES!!!! THEY SUCK!!!! They love to take your money, but not give you to much in return!!!!!

Well, the good thing about the card I used today have no interest til June, it'll be pretty much paid off by then. I know the light I want, the problem is how to install them into the canopy since it's plastic canopy. Once I get it delivered Wednesday I can see how I'm gonna do it. Have to figure out how to do VHO's in there too. This time, ALL Icecap ballast!!!! Those things are expensive!!! It would cost me around $820 for two Icecap ballast with timers built in and two reflectors with hanging kit and 2-250w HQI bulbs of my choice of 10k, 14k, or 20k. At least it's free shipping. It'll be awhile before the tank is good and ready for corals so I guess I can start by paying off the card and then swipe it again... :hilarious

You got it right!!!! I was VERY surprised!!! She decided to host in my large colony of zoos. She started it yesterday, she's laying in it now, the zoos don't seem to mind at all. I thought it was kinda cute. I was hoping she would host in the plate coral, but she likes the zoos better. :happyfish

I'm waiting on a rock order right now. A friend of mine orders rocks by the pallets. It's all dry live rock. They work great, I'm gonna use'em in my sump & main display. Once I get those rocks, that's when I'll be setting it up. He's waiting to hear when he'll be able to get'em. It took me 5 hours setting up the sump/fuge system last time for my 55 reef, but it is a existing reef and I had to mess with ALL the wiring underneath, but I don't have to do that this time, but with all the new plumbing that I have to learn about and hook up. It would probably take me a couple of days to actually set it up unless I get some help from my club members. At least they know how to, it would be quicker if they would come and help me. Otherwise I can always figure it out by myself. I have a bucket of salt just for this task, the bucket I won at the frag swap back in January. I just need to borrow jugs from friends. It will need at least 20-5gallon jugs to fill this tank and sump. Leaving extra room for rocks and sand. I'm gonna use my T-5's for now until it's cycled and when I get my new lights. :happyfish

I may eventually get a RO unit, but not right now. I go to Wal-mart all the time anyway....I get 10% discount with my reef membership card at most of the local LFS except on tanks! I got 10% off everything but the tank I bought, 10% off the sump, 10% off the mag pump, etc. We do monthly meetings and stuff, trading corals with one another, talking about reefs, important stuffs to know, doing group orders, etc. So it is very beneficial for me!! I'm gonna head for bed now, talk at you tomorrow night! :happyfish

I see odd people in walmart here also!!! I don't hang out there, I just grab my stuff and go. Go to Reef Central all in one word, then dot com. Look for your local club there! I'm getting ideas from the local members on how to do my lights on the new tank. A friend of mine is coming over tomorrow to give me some more inputs. He's gonna help me hook up pc fans in my canopy. That would be a fun task.... :happyfish

Fun comes after hardship. After I put in all the hard work, it would come out as a master piece! I want to get it done before June 11th, the day I host the club meeting. I want to show it off. :happyfish
