I hve been told I do have a good head on my shoulders, I plan to own my own pet store when I grad from college. I will give my buds on here discounts ;). As for the winters...yes NY winters suck, it's supposed to snow Friday! To early for my taste.

I would like to give out a big thanks to GeoJ for helping me with the design for the "bubble elimnator" contraption, or in other words the first picture.

Nice build you got going! And congrats on a successful drill job on the tank!
I've never seen that design used on a drain before, curious to see how well it works out for ya. What type of skimmer and pump do you plan on getting? Do you think the tank will be ok with the brace cut out?
Again, it looks like you're doing a great job!

I will be running a reef octopus XP 1000sss with a via aqua 2600 return, I am also curious to see how the plumbing works or if I will have to tweak it, I will run it fresh water for a day or two to see how it works out :) I will be putting a removable acrylic brace back on the tank just to make sure that it will hold well. But if the need arises be able to take it back off. It's coming along folks stay tuned as I am putting baffles on tomorrow hopefully! :D

I have decided to hold off on the lights for another two weeks and will be getting the essencials to get it cycling this next thursday! The guy I'm getting the lights from said he would hold them for another two weeks so I'm good on that aspect.
and thanks for the compliments guys it really means a lot!

So I have come to realize I may have to redo the plumbing or get a 40 Breeder for the sump. TO me it looks a little to cramped for a skimmer, heater, return, and fuge...or is it just me?

I would say it's definitely too small for all of the above. What are the measurements under the stand of the actual usable area? If you can fit a 40B that would be better...if not than maybe a two tank set up might work better. 2 tank meaning the fuge would be seperate tank all it's own.

You could cram it all in, but I do like the 40 breeder if your stand is tall enough for the skimmer.

I will have to think good and hard about this, I think I should redo the plumbing. I kinda did it half-arsed. That way I can have the bubble tower all the way to the left of the tank, skimmer, heater, then baffles, fuge, more baffles, then return....what do you guys think?

You would have around an 8" deep fuge not much to look at, but it is more of a fuge then I have no fuge

If you did a 40B could you fit the skimmer in with it up on a stand at six inches of water?

I will just redo the plumbing, I dont like much how it sits anyways, lol. Does anyone know how to get PVC cement off so I can pull the pipes and joints apart?
