Adding fish to a newly setup tank

And you do realize that a 55g is too small for a yellow tang
Please explain to me how if the only fish I had in a 55 gallon tank was a yellow tang my tank would be to small.
To the OP IMO a conscientious hobbyist can keep a yellow in a 55g under the right conditions
Size: 4-6 inches
Care Level: Easy
Temperament: Docile
Reef Safe: MONITOR WITH CORALS
Diet: Pellet, Greens, Flake
Acclimation Time: 3+ hours
Minimum Tank Size: 75 gallons Reef save monitor with corals.
Coral safe NO
Coral Safe: NO
Invertebrate Safe: Yes
Reef save monitor with corals.
Coral safe NO
Wow nice contradiction
Yellows may nip at coral polyps but I feel that’s more due to their grassing instincts rather then finding the polyps tasty

Well there are already other inhabitants in this tank already...

Also this description I posted was about a FOXFACE...and I do believe a while back I asked a question on this forum about reef safe compared to coral safe.....and I received very good explanations on the differences
REEF....snails/inverts
corals...duh do I really need to explain...

So if I have a FOWLR tank with a CUC I have a Reef tank thanks that’s good to know
Going on the assumption that the OP used the damsels to cycle he may or may not be keeping them. Even if he were I would be willing to bet that the damsels he has are and will remain under two inches still lots of water relegated to the yellow

You misunderstood....when a fish is listed as: reef safe...no...or coral safe yes.....
Reef safe NO...means the fish may eat inverts/snails
coral safe no....means that fish may eat corals
I did not say by having them it makes your tank a reef tank

I think the general consensus is no tangs in a 55

Your quote and the quote I was asking you to substantiate

WELL JOE......Just maybe I should have said it this way
Regrding the yellow tang:
From what I have read, and what seems to be the general consensus regarding tangs....it is not recommended to keep a tang in a 55g...now please understand that this is not written in stone, but it just seems to be the majority of hobbyists OPINIONS...

And maybe I should have sold my Harley Davison stock when it was at 60 but you cannot un-ring a bell. And as we all know hobbyists tend to take post counts as a sign of knowledge so one must make sure they post what they really mean

Ok so perhaps all your posts should come with a disclaimer stating, “please disregard all my posts previous to my last”
