You have only had the lion about a month too, Right. Do you QT new fish ? It could be carrying something that efected your angle but not the othe fish. Just thinking. Did you use a different water source for the WC or change your RO filters befor if you use them?

I didnt Qt the lion and tang. Tang Came diseased from this site.. and shortly spread tomy tang... i treated my tank right away.. with both primafix and melafix... everything was fine after that. And i use NYC tap water.. which is really good and everyone i know uses it,,even the successful stores around here

I QT all my latest fish except my last order from this site, If i did Qt that tang it would have died in that tank and not have killed my great purple tang. I am very upset with that
and will always Qt fish with no more exceptions

firstly, you should not use tap water ever. and secondly you should not treat chemicals in your main tank

yeah, many things SAY they are reef safe. but you still dont want to use them in your main tank. use it in your qt instead. and unless your tapwater is RO/DI purified i still wouldnt use it

It is always a possibility that the angel could have been stressed out from parasites. Maybe it did not have them on his body, but maybe the mere fact that he was in the tank with a sick fish stressed him out because the parasites were constantly looking for a new host.
I almost lost my dwarf lion because my puffer got velvet. The dwarf lion had absolutely no signs of velvet or parasite, yet he refused to eat for the two weeks that the puffer had velvet. It was not until I got my neon gobies and got rid of the velvet that he started eating. The very night after I got the neon gobies, the lion was back to eating.
Not saying that this is a definite conclusion, but it could be a possibility.
Also, the fact that you treated pimafix and melafix in the tank stressed him out as well. I know that these products are reef safe and are all-natural, however, they are still a medication. If the angel is not sick, then there is no need to be giving him medication. This is why people use QT tanks. That way, only the sick fish is treated while the others can continue living the way they normally do. With medication in the tank, it is going to affect the lymphatic system of the fish.
What did the sick tang have when you added it to the tank? You said it was infected the first time, and then the second time you said it was diseased. You treated with MelaFix and PimaFix. Why? Was it infected or diseased? Did it have parasites or bacterial/fungal infections? I know this may not seem like it relates to anything, but it may help to know.

As for the smoking question, that is just disrespectful. The guy is trying to get a serious answer to his question, and after we preach about him not saying that "advanced only" comment, he gets someone to post something stupid like that. I don't know how you feel when you lose a fish, but I am sure emporer is not in a jovial mood right now. I take my fish very seriously as they are a part of my house and my life, so when I lose one, I do not expect someone to be cutting jokes at it. I am sure emporer feels the same.

Hey lion.... The sick tang had a bacterial/fungal infection. I only used meds in my main because both fish including the (purple tang) it spread to were 6 inches a piece and i only had a 20 gallon qt. I also knew i wouldnt catch those fish... and i didnt want to stress them out. I should have never put that damn tang in...although i do feel bad for the fish.. but am dissapointed with this site

Yeah, I would be disappointed too. That is why I have yet to ever order a fish online. I always feed, refeed, and then refeed my fish before I buy it to make sure they is nothing wrong with it. I can understand why you medicated the tank, as the 20 would not have been suitable and like you said, you would never have caught them anyway. I still am going on the fact that the medications in the tank messed with his lymphatic system and because the angel is a delicate fish as it is, he could not handle such a change to his tank, body fluctuations, and water conditions. I am very sorry to hear about all the fish losses however..
