How bad of a job does one being have to be doing for 44% of the country to want a guy back in office that had only a 27% approval rating. That means almost 20% of the country didn't approve of Bush but would rather have him over Obama.....
I love the 3 points of disaster they use. One being a bunch of liberal "historians" who voted Bush the worse president in history, the other being a bunch of "why cares what the brits think, they couldn't even beat a bunch of hayseed revolutionaries. Then a war that Obama just sorta doubled down on, a nearly finished success in Iraq.
Man that is GREAT proof.

You guys do realize that the American government post 1850 or so was simply put in place to make sure that the rich and powerful people have and keep all the power, and that the little guy feels just protected enough to keep believing that America is the land of opportunity and prosperity.
Everyone gripes and whines about Bush did this, or Obama did that... when it's pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain that the special interests (i.e. oil, pharmaceuticals, lawyers, lobbyists, etc) in essence call all the shots.
People make me laugh when they say that capitalism is great, but then they complain when the basic workings of capitalism hurt their modest lifestyle.
You don't want hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in America? Fine. Then you would have to the majority of all the Fortune 500 companies in this country actually enforce their hiring practices, and the CEO's and top 2% would lose half their net worth and all the companies products would jump 25%.
You think it's terrible that WalMart doesn't give their employees affordable health care, a decent wage, and they put all the Mom and Pop's out of business, yet if you had to pay $3.50 for a gallon of milk as opposed to the current $2.50 you would have an armed revolution in Bentonville, Arkansas.
The biggest problem in this country is that capitalism, greed, and the almighty dollar have put us where we are today, and somehow we think that Obama, or Bush, or whoever is in the oval office can "fix" things.
As long as money talks, and believe me, it always will, then America is going to continue down the road were on.
This country is like the "flawed relationship theory". You'll never be able to love someone else until you are able to love yourself. In essence, American values and ideas need to change before we can ever think about fixing things "as is".

Communist.

I am not even going to bother to point out all the ignorance and flaws in your entire post. You wouldn't stick around for the debate anyway.

Politics aside, if the rich keep getting richer, it's because they know how to save, and they know how to invest. If the poor keep getting poorer, it's because they don't know how to do the above, are unwilling to learn, and/or sit back expecting the rich to pay for them too.
Agree on the last point that no matter who is in office, there will be complainers.

Take the way our educational system is setup for example, local taxes pay for the public education of those communities. Thus the richer the area better the education, then factor in college cost alone obviously set up to make the rich in a better position to get educated/paid, and the opposite for the poor. Now I am not saying that the well off do not deserve the fruits of their former generations labor's however the poor are not just lazy or unwilling alot have been beaten down by life over and over again, prices of food and gas are enough to make an honest man steal meanwhile the cheapest seat in Congress has a million+ pricetag

So you think the rich keep getting richer because they know how to "save" and "invest"?
You don't think it has anything to do with how this country does business huh?
The tax code alone is enough glaring proof that this country is set up for the rich to get richer, and the poor to stay where they are or lose what little they have.
There is a great book by a guy named David Cay Johnston called "Perfectly Legal: The Secret Campaign to Rig Our Tax System to Benefit the Super Rich - and Cheat Everybody Else"
Now I'm sure by simply looking at the title you will think it's some nut job out of left field trying to come up with some crazy conspiracy theory. I just finished it, and while I admit I've dabbled in a few books that we're certainly "out there", this one is actually packed with real information, based on actual, indisputable facts, about the American tax code. If you can find it cheap, I suggest you give it a read.
It's a real eye opener, and will at least make you think
about things in a different light...

bahaha
You LITERALLY have to believe the exact opposite thing as reality to believe that the tax code favors the rich.
I think this one takes the cake, even better than rylan (another alternate reality democrat) who argued that raising the capital gains rate would increase and promote investment...

The taxes themselves aren't but the many loopholes and the cost of hiring someone to structure your finaces and clasify income is all in favor of the rich, an intro to federal incometax textbook tells you in the first two chapters how things such as estate taxes were an attempt to keep wealth from passing from generation to generation, has failed because ones ability to structure income and assets
Not to mention reality is something of debate itself, ie your reality can verywell be different from anothers

Like the guy above said, you obviously have never taken a look at the history of the American tax code. It was specifically engineered to help the rich* keep their money while average Joe Sixpack** gets killed and there isn't much he can do about it.
*Rich - Top 1% with reported net worth over 5 million dollars.
**Joe Sixpack - Average two person household making < $100,000 a year

Just because you repeat it again, DOESN"T mean it becomes true...
I'd quote you numbers, but I wouldn't expect any comprehension.

I dont want numbers I want facts besides the increased tax rate for higher income that is only touching the surface of things as complicated as tax code

The reality is, if I make 5 million in salary, I'm going to get taxed at a higher rate than I'm taxed now.
If I make 5 million in capital gains, I'm going to be taxed (this year) at a higher rate than what I am in capital gains this year.
The only thing is, you may pay more to use the loop hole than you save in taxes... So why bother.
This isn't rocket science, hell this isn't isn't as hard as tying your shoes.

I'm not the one arguing that the tax code is setup to benifit the rich...%% I'm insulted that you'd even suggest that to me.

Dude, don't insult me, by trying to sell me snake oil. You really think I'm that dumb?
First off, how in the HELL can I even start discussing taxes. Without discussing tax rates? THAT IS HOW THEY MEASURE HOW MUCH YOU PAY IN TAXES! There is no way around that.
But hey, never let facts stand in your way...

Poor keep getting poorer? You are a moron.
Compare the poor from 25 years ago to the "poor" of today.
25 years ago, 50% owned a car compared to 75% today. Cars have only gotten more expensive as time has gone on....if they are getting poorer how can the afford that more expensive car since their wages and pay keeps decreasing.
25 years ago, 35% owned a dishwasher, now it is 70%.Another item that has become more expensive
25 years ago, No cell phone ownership...since they weren't made really. But now, 50% of the poor own an active cell phone.
25 years ago, only 40% of the poor had air conditioning...another item in which the cost has risen steeply. Today 80% of the poor have airconditioning
So if the system isn't working, it has to be doing something right since these people tht are getting poorer are able to own more items and improve their lifestyle far more than their counterparts from 25 years ago.......
I sometimes wonder if you guys even know what the hell you are saying................
