My mom and sister adopted a kitten that they saw get hit just about the same way. It had a broken pelvis. The Vet told them to keep it in a crate (to limit mobility) until it healed up. The cat gets around pretty good now. The only lasting effect from the incident is poor bladder control.

I've had 2 cats killed in front of my house by people speeding down our street. The cats never had a chance. Now, I won't let my other 2 out of the house. I can't trust the idiot drivers out there. Our street is only supposed to be 25mph but most do much faster because it's a wide street and they know the cops in my little town are probably out ruffing up the kids that are just skateboarding. Unfortunately, I'm not kidding. I hope the poor little thing will be okay.

it won't i ended up calling animalcontrol if it makes it through the night it will be put down in the morning i just can't do anything we gave it baby aspirin to relieve the pain the driver was either aiming for it or switching lanes there was no braking i'm really sad now...tobin

Tobin, you have to look at it this way, you did all you really could do and that's more than most people would have done!

I am not a cat person but who doesn't love kittens? If they didn't grow up to be cats they would be great

Did the animal control say they were going to just put it down? Thats a drag. Well, like someone else said you did what you are in a position to do. Least it had some time with someone who cared.

thanks they took it away me and jenny are tore up right now this kitten was at the age you give them away it was so cute and what it just went through friendly didn't try to bite just accepted it...tobin

They didn't put her to sleep yet? Now that is wrong. I won't share what is going on in my mind right now, but she will be in heaven soon.....

no they don't gas till 8:30 in the morning i don't know if you read this whole thread but we gave her baby aspirin to help with th pain and i would like to thank everyone for there quick responces it means a lot to me and jenny thank you all you are some great people...tobin

Unfornately, all we can do is be glad it was not your cat. It could have been much worse. It could have been a child. Even yours. Not to put such a horrid thought in your head, but it could have been worse. I am sorry for the whole situation. Very righteous of you to try to do all you could, and at least it was not suffering alone. I commend you.

what a horrible post to wake up and read poor little thing i feel horrible when i hit a chipmunk or squirrel, i doubt i could live with myself if i hit a kitten.
