I don't think spitting is a cause for a ban, that's insane. If you could see the gouging, testicle squeezing, and rabbit punching that goes on during a pile for a loose ball, spitting doesn't seem anything but immature. The Cowboy lineman (Gurode?) who stomped on the guy's unprotected face didn't get get banned from the league, and rightfully so. The injury wasn't bad enough to warrant it.
I think if the league needs to crack down on anything it's leading with the helmet and leg-whipping. These have ended players careers, and there are former players unable to hug their children or make love to their wife because of a

that occured during play.
The endzone antics and so forth get on my nerves, too; but let's put it in perspective. ESPN shows them over and over, people tune in to see TO's antics.
