Ban T.O. from NFL?

I don't think spitting is a cause for a ban, that's insane. If you could see the gouging, testicle squeezing, and rabbit punching that goes on during a pile for a loose ball, spitting doesn't seem anything but immature. The Cowboy lineman (Gurode?) who stomped on the guy's unprotected face didn't get get banned from the league, and rightfully so. The injury wasn't bad enough to warrant it.
I think if the league needs to crack down on anything it's leading with the helmet and leg-whipping. These have ended players careers, and there are former players unable to hug their children or make love to their wife because of a

[hr]
that occured during play.
The endzone antics and so forth get on my nerves, too; but let's put it in perspective. ESPN shows them over and over, people tune in to see TO's antics.

dispise him or like him its hard to deny that he is very talented...
That is all well and good and things many other players in the nfl do. however, they usually do not have the negative baggage he carries. Also, the nfl suspended a player in the playoffs last year for spitting...so I am not sure why this guy skated without at least the same. The suspension without pay is what hits them in the pocket.
The judge and jury has spoken. Tune in for future chapters.

i for one am looking forward to several more chapters...
TO's baggage is only as negative as the media makes IMO...
i dont remember the spitting incident in the playoffs last year... :notsure: but if the NFL did do this then they should make blanket penalties for offenders... i agree, if more players were suspended without pay there would be less antics...
i also would agree with emmitt on the Tank Johnson incident... why isnt this headlines instead of TO's spitle...

That way he gets penalized financially, statistically, and the wrath of the Cowboys teammates can weigh on his conscience. (If he has one)

OMG!!! this is ridiculous.

All of these statements come from an accurate source... this guy tried to get me top sell Cured LR at 2 bucks a pound. And wanted it to include a Neon Green mushroom rock with 26 mushrooms that I acctually sold for $300... in the deal and acted like he was doing me a favor..l...... This is a hilarious thread and you obviously know nothing about football.... FUNNY a selfish person plays through injuries. Leads Receivers in TDS. And you want him suspended for spitting at a punk who was in his face after every play despite being flat out embarrased (again) and also shoving Owens 3 times after the play was well over.... HAHAHAHALOLOLOLOLOLOLOOL you are hilarious... you deserve a job with ESPN

why does the media take up over an hour to talk about this guy??? if it was anyone else it would have been a 5 min discussion and then on to the next subject... remember when Vick showed the fans his version of the dirty bird??? sports talk shows discussed it, moved on and havent mentioned it since... we will hear about TO spitting for a week now... good grief!!!

I agree.
Where is Vicks banned thread???? IMO he is a disgrace for doing that to all the fans that pay his salary.
And I beleive that is muych worse than spitting at some punk.

Ummmm...it was the Tampa Bay game! Arent you a BUCS fan?!? lol
Sean Taylor was ejected for spitting in Michael Pittmans face.
He was kicked out but not suspended so that must be the difference. I guess spitting warrants ejection but not suspension :notsure:
p.s. I know some in this thread will appreciate this
a box came last night UPS from irving, texas which my wife quickly hid somewhere. Hmmmmm.....i have weird a feeling I will be posting a pic of a #9 Romo Jersey december 26th
Well, that or my wife is cheating on me with some guy 2000 miles away

Oceanists,
I wish there were PM's on these forums. Kudos for your sanity in this world gone mad about an income and win/loss driven league!

no need to ban terrell owens.
if he keeps this up, he will make himself un-desirable and nobody will pick him up.
he will essentially fade away.... almost like a maurice clarette syndrome.

I was just trying to start a conversation. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Yes, he can play ball, and yes, he's a moron. KIDS tend to look up to famous athletes. Thank GOD there aren't many that look up to him. No need to bash me.

I see it like this.
TO has calmed down quite a bit...
He hasnt celebrated a touchdown since the "falling asleep in the endzone" incident, and I beleive this is out of respect for his teamates he said he was sorry for the penalty and said it wouldnt happen again..... it hasnt happened again.
As for being selfish .. see the above statement and then combine it with....
TO has a history of playing through injuries .... Eagle when Roy Williams gave him whgat was supposed to be a season ending broken leg... he returned and got his team i8nto the SB.... Begining of the Season Cowboys, broken pinky ... plate inserted and back the next week.... Later this year and who know what week this dates back to torn tendon in the tip of his ring finger probably resulting in his load of dropped passes .... refuses surgery risks not having the same movement ever again... for the team.
People dont take much consideration of the punk Mcnabb can be. Mcnabb is no angel. Nobody knows the full story behind what happened between TO and the Eagles except TO and the Eagles. The Media will twist anything and everything to squeegy out half way credible story.... I.E. "T.O. ATTEMPTS SUICIDE!" this is the most outragous hunk of BS ever and it was proven by proffesional doctors opinions and cops trying to cover their tracks. I dont know about you but I heard the 911 tape and never did it mention suicide.
Another example is Manny Ramirez doesnt talk to the media and for that they will do anything to down him and mae him seem like a butthole .... he still produces 150 RBIS a season. From what I understand this man plays baseball and isnt looking to entertain the media....
NOW....
I want to know this.... Where is D. Halls suspension or fine.... I beleive once a play is called dead getting in a receiever or any other players face should result in unsportsman like conduct. Or how about the 3 hard shoves T.O. receieved well after the plays were dead, shouldnt that be a late hit or unsportsman like conduct. D. Hall is a punk who is upset that he was embarrased by a player that he desperatly wanted to shut down and burnt again. Where is D. Halls fine.... I mean c'mon at least they have evidence of all of this stuff. Instead T.O. is suspended for a phantom spit in the direction of D. Hall. To tell you the truth Im quite suprised TO didnt punch that little weasle in the face..... D Hall is mad because his season is all but over. Poor Sportsmanship at its finest.
When T.O. signed with the Boys I was upset I wanted Keyshawn around. I hated T.O. ever since the Cpwboys Star incident, and being a Cowboys fan in Northern CA made it even worse because it was all T.O. allthe time here.'
T.O. has proved to me as well as many other Dallas fans that he has come to play ball ..... will he ruin it in the future maybe... but I have always learned to give people the benfit of the doubt .... and obviously Jerry Jones felt the same way when he 5threw a bunch of money at TO taking his word that he is a changed man.... TO has done nothing for me as a Cowboys fan to be upset with. He has earned money this year. And Honestly I think he will be around untill his contract ends.... I would even go as far to say he will retire as a Cowboy.
T.O is a playmaker and one of the best receivers of all time ... 29 teams in the NFL would like to have him as a 1st WR the only 2 that wouldnt are the Eagles and the 49ers. And one team has him and playoff bound fighting for the 2 seed

actually Oceanists... TO does have the new "TO" celebration (where he extends his arms for the T and clasps his hands over his head for the O) that he did 2 times in the end zone and atleast once on the sidelines to the fans...
TO will not fade away and he certainly isnt like Clarett...
not too sure why D Hall wasnt flagged, but he was definately frustrated and got burnt several times... he talks as much as TO but rarely backs it up...

I appreciate your opinion if others do not. many feel as you do that Me-O TO is a piece of garbage. many ex-players and coaches have commented on his actions and how they can divide locker rooms etc. It is up to each of us as fans to form our own opinions based on the info available. Your opinion is consistent with others regarding the character of this individual .....although the actions of BO do not warrant a ban from the nfl. Others will point to some accomplishments but was it to benefit the team or Me-O's ego? Who knows.....but he appears to be driven for attention.
Those that wish to praise TO can do so...those that wish to point out his questionable actions should be allowed to also do so.
You simply started a thread that is contray to the views of some...and there is not need for you to be bashed on the head for doing so. Others may share your opinion...or at least feel he is of questionable "character".
My hat goes off to the 49er orgnaization that suspended him for one game with no pay for his spike on the Dallas Star years ago. He has a history long before Philly dating back to 2000 with conduct one can question.
he still claims he is going to call out a supposed "snitch" when the time is right on the Dallas team. That should be interesting if the coward decides to do it.
I'll be up your way next week in Ruidoso.

These types of actions may or may not lead to 15 yard penalties...that is left up to the officials. Pushing, shoving etc many times is let go. Spitting is classless...and he admited to doing it right after the game...and he is now trying to change his story after many are calling him out for this behavior.
I'm sure many of the other Dallas players were guilty of the same conduct...happens all the time in nfl games. Spitting on another player is usually outside of the realm of what happens in an nfl game.
You actually beleive a player should be suspended and fined for shoving and getting in a players face? This is on the same level as spitting in the face of another player?

Yes I do, it is promoting poor sportsmanship ... I dont care if it is up to the official or not, and I dont care if it is his style of play or not, it is againast the rules of football ..... everybody has their breaking point, if I was in that position, I would have reacted as well. TO treated him like the peice of garbage he was acting like. How about when D Hall pounded ocho cinco well after the play was ver ... this guy also has a bad rep... and just because he was not penalized onm the field I beleive if the league is going to crack down on players it should be an all around effort in doing so.....
And
with Catawaba starting this thread and poll.... it was the classless way it was done that has irritated people ... look at the responses for voting.. both options put this player down and I dont agree with either one so I have not voted. It actually makes it look like someone has a problem with maturity issues. ..... and it is not T.O.

You people are either crazy (not literally of course) or have EXTREMELY short memories. He should NOT be banned from the NFL. Please remember a player named Bill Romonowski. This is one of the dirtiest, trashiest players of ANY sport and was caught on national television spitting in the face of another player named J.J. Stokes. Guess what? He was only fined $7,500. It's a far cry in comparison to the amount T.O. is being fined. Some may say, "Well you must look at T.O.'s hostory." Fair enough. But i will say that Romo(nowski) has had at least a comparable behavioral history as T.O. Oh, and last year Sean Taylor (Redskins) was only fined 17K for spitting in the face of Michael Pittman. And that incident too was captured on television. Again, T.O.'s was not.
Disclaimer: I am in no way saying that i condone these acts of behavior. But I do wonder why people are so quick to do away with T.O., but not others who do/have done simliar acts.
