I think the original purpose of this thread was lost long ago. What ever happened with the poster's cloudy tank? Was it bubbles, was it the skilter, what?
It's easy to get drawn into these arguments because we all think what we are doing is what works best and whatever everyone else is doing is wrong. Give me any opinion and I guarantee I can find a contradictory one somewhere on this message board. I can even remember a thread that ended up being closed by the moderator because it got so nasty, and that was over water changes, something that some people (myself included) would never dream of disputing.
Now that I've sounded all high and mightly, I'll go on to say that I'm actually pretty proficient with the English language, and in my instructions for my Penguin it says to brush and/or lightly rinse the biowheels in saltwater if they need it. I haven't looked at that instruction book for a long time, so that quote is not verbatim, but I do know that I rinse mine in the saltwater from my tank because of those instructions. I think the bottom line is that when we have an opinion on something, we are going to think it's right and we're going to do it, no matter what anyone says!
Anyway, I hope the poster was able to glean something from all of this. It sure has entertained me!
