Fragging zoanthids or palythoas on to Tonga branch rocks and letting them grow out a little really makes them look natural. For normal sized frags of 10-15 polyps like my Eagle Eye frags I have, I jammed them into "corners" or wedges between two or three big rocks and they started to grow on all adjacent rocks. As soon as they thoroughly spread to all the other rocks around them, I am going to pull out the original frag and either refrag that frag or sell them. I hope this helps.

Looking great Bonebreak!!!! Coraline growth is coming along nicely and I really like the blue shrooms, they really help bring out the color in the tank!
Keep up the good work,
Bob

I can get some pics of the lights, but it is just the factory setup except I took one of the 50/50 bulbs out and replaced it with a true actinic 03.

The clowns are hosting a green hairy mushroom; it is not an anemone. The green hairy mushrooms really do not require strong light, but they would probably grow a little faster if they were under strong light. It is neat to watch them because they very slowly "crawl" closer to the lights by moving only a few millimeters a day higher and closer to the center of the tank to get closer to the lights.

Sweet tank, great diversity for a 24. And the rock is absolutely perfect for what you're hosting. Perfect nano.

Sorry, I haven't checked my thread in a while.
I am going to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM, hence the avatar) and I did Biology: Pre-Medicine at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. I am focusing on radiology for my specialty as of right now. If you ever want to come to PCOM to check it out let me know and I will give you a tour and if you have any other questions about medical school shoot me an email.

Very nice tank. It seems as if you have a colorful strain of Coralline that you have nurtured nicely. Do you leave your blue lights on at night? Do you dose calcium daily? On a side note, I can't seem to post a decent picture as I run up against the size limitations and just scale my pictures down. Any quick fix to post better pictures? Great tank.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, my pink and purple coralline algae grows explosively. It is now a chore to keep it off of the glass. If I had to attribute it to anything it would be my 12 hr. per day light cycle, I maintain a relatively high alkalinity (4.0 meq/L or 11.2 dKH) and I dose a diluted solution of Ca(OH)2 in water for my top off for evaporation.
For uploading pictures, go to Photobucket and register a free account. They will automatically scale your images to an appropriate size when you upload them and give you instructions on how to post pictures on other websites such as this one.
Have fun!

Nice little sun coral.
I don't think I am ready to try one of those. I would not want the responsibility of spot feeding it three times a week and fighting off my scavengers for an hour so it doesn't get its food stolen.
Even if I did want one, I don't know if I have any room on my sandbed right now!

Not sure what kind of lighting you have (to lazy to check ), but one way to control coraline growth, if you want to, is to get a clam. Since they absorb calcium from the water your coraline will not grow a s fast! I think the back wall of your tank looks fantastic.
Love the tank tho. I'll see if I can get soem shot of my 24NC. They seem to be a dieing breed!
