last time i tried it, it worked.... but that was before i performed my first water change... im gonna skip the buffer and do a water change.. if that doesnt bring up the ph level then i guess ill add buffer

ok then do the buffer thing and dont do a water change till its time of the month.
i have one of those buffers things. never used it
its still closed. and i bought it 3-4 months ago lol.
i have the kent marine superbffer-dKH
it says to dissolve one teaspoon of kent marine in RO water.
add directly to tank or sump for each 20-30gallons of tank capacity each day until the desired PH and alk is reached.
wait 1 hour to re-measure alk and wait 24 hours to re-measure ph levels. (full ph levels increase and stabiliztion may take up to 48 hours)
after target ph and alk are reached, use at 2 weeks intervals to maintain values.
( i will do what it says.) what do you do?
HTH

my lfs is up in pembroke pines so the money ill be saving in water is almost triple of what ill be spending in gas, i live within walking distance to a publix so i rather pay 70 something cents per gallon and save gas then waste about 10 bucks in gas and pay 30 something cents for r/o water

RO/DI or RO is a type of water that most of us use. It is very pure and tanks out a lot of things like silicates (that is what causes you to get detritus, those ugly hair looking things that are green and brown). Not have problems with detritus is just one benefit of using RO water. There are many other great things about it and if you can afford to get a system of your own, it'll pay for itself in a matter of months. No more carting water, you always pay a set price and it's accessible 24 hours a day, in your pajamas, or even when you're in your birthday suit.

Which one?
my nano is still scary... I am just ghost feeding at the moment and testing away... no new developments.
And my 45 is grand, other than a new algae I am seeing... very filmy like and on the glass. thin and i just swipe the magnet across and it goes away. Added a diy fuge to it a few days ago, only because I had an old aquaclear 70 laying around.
I was thinking... This might be a good option for you, If you don't want to do a real fuge. The project is very simple and could help with that potential pod problem. Check out this thing. It's cool!
Did you fix your PHs yet?

This thread was originally about Fiasco asking if he could keep a mandarin. He wanted to know about pods and everyone was saying that it couldn't be done. I think he can, if he preps for the pods and the mandarin ahead of time. So on and on the thread went, with advice and all. Then like two days later, I added the mini fuge. And it made me think of his question and this thread...

For sure. That's what I said... I didn't give a time, but I said that the tank had to be established, and that he needs some more LR and to put the pods in way ahead of time. that's all I did and my mandarin is happy.. I love that lil guy!

honestly im clean getting away from the mandarin just cause of the how fuge thing with me having such a small tank im currently looking for a fourth replacement fish for the mandarin...
