I'm upset, but not as much as I would have been if I had her longer. She wasn't looking too good and someone asked me to take her and try to save her. I tried, she wasn't even nipping at the SPS so I suspected she was already too starved to survive.
The two males have lost weight, but aren't terrible. I can't get them to accept frozen at all, but I did get them to eat some copepods, but it is not consistent.
The one male with eat flaked purple algae that I break up for the blenny, but won't eat anything else other than montipora polyps.
Thus far I have tried:
Mysis shrimp (frozen)
Live mysis shrimp
Live babe brine shrimp
Spirulina brine
Cyclop-eez
Arctipods
PE Mysis - cut up
Shaved salmon
All of this has been tried individually and mixed together. I've tried with garlic and without, with vitamins and without and still no luck. In the mean time, I still have SPS in there.

well it takes time youve not even had these guys for a month
I know. This isn't the first one I've owned. But a month without conversion can be slow starvation, and I want to avoid that. If they get too thin, they will refuse to eat and have failure to thrive and then I'll have to deal with two dead fish.
My last filefish was doing well, but got spooked while I had my hand in the tank to kill some aiptasia. She turned quickly to swim away and slammed her mouth into a rock and broke the "beak". She was still able to eat really fine food for a few days, and I thought she might recover, but then it got infected and she died. I was soooo heartbroken. I had worked so hard to fatten her up and make her less stressed. She was just starting to eat from my hand too

Well, one male died today. I'm left with just the one male. He is doing well. I was doubtful as to whether or not the other male was still even eating acropora.
On a plus side, the one that is left it starting to pick at frozen, he spits it out, but at least he's interested. He's also eating copepods.

Aww...sorry to hear that. Good luck with the other one. It is good he is getting interested in the other foods.

Thanks. The one male was looking funky this morning but I thought he might turn around, but I got home from work tonight and he was dead under a montipora. :-(
It was never my intention to have a ton at once, so at least now I can really focus my attention on the one.
