Big problem! Shut down the tank this afternoon to make final connections the basement sump. Got my drain connections and return connection done at the tank. Filled the sump with new saltwater I made. Plugged in the Mag36 and it don't work. It's seized. I plugged in the other Mag36, it don't work either! I have one soaking in vinegar now.

That sucks!!!!!!!
Did you try plugging it in and spinning the impeller? What about pulling the head loose from the pump?

Ending up plumbing in the Mag24. It's the only pump of the three I bought that work. So to say the least I'm pretty disgusted. My skimmer isn't skimming, just filling display tank with bubbles. The vibration from the pump to the sump is so loud as well.

Your saying Mag24 is vibrating? Have you tried putting a pad underneath to quiet the vibration? What type/brand skimmer?

Yeah, the connection between intake of pump and sump is hard pvc and a ball valve and the bulkhead. It's too rigid I think. The pump is sitting on a soft pad. It's a ASM G3.

Hmmmm do you have a pic on how the pump is plumbed??? Having a hard time visualizing what you have going on. The skimmer isn't new is it?

No skimmer isn't new. Haven't run it in a couple years. Took it out and cleaned it in vinegar. Been running 24 hours now. Will get pic in a minute.

Well it might be a break in issue. Possibly out of adjustment???? Our you trying to tune it and get a head of foam going?

Don't see anything really wrong with the mounting.....Curious though.....I see it's mounted or on top of a pad/block....Is there anyway to secure that firmly down? Velcro straps???? That's probably where your picking up the vibration from. Other than on the output side running spa flex..
As far as the skimmer....your sure the air line is completely open? A pic of the skimmer body??? The body should look like milk or an Alka Seltzer......If it's not I'd be looking closely at the air intake on the pump and line first.....

Built my algae scrubber today. Seems to have good flow. Lights are 40 watt (actual) CFL. Reflectors are 10.5". Cut simple notches in the top of the screens to hold it in the pipe.

Don't know how strong that pump is, but with my SRO3000 you can actually see it pulling air if you look at the pump intake. Try showing a flashlight into the intake on that pump and see if you see a vortex coming from the air intake line into the pump.

Xcali1985 you are running the bubble blaster pump? Would be hard to do the flashlight deal if he's running the stock Sedra pump on the ASM.....
Habs you should be able to take the air line feeding the pump and feel/hear air being sucked.....You could also try pinching the line off and seeing how the skimmer reacts as well.....If there's little change you have a blockage somewhere......
