Ok Habsfan - here is the latest config to keep the ATO float where it is now. Let me know what you think.

How much plumbing is between the sump and the display tank and what diameter is it? Keep in mind that 20 feet of 1" PVC holds over 2.5 gallons of water and that doesn't include any water being siphoned during a power outage. You need room for all of this water left over in your sump. From your dimentions it looks like you have more than enough but I recommend testing it a couple times to be sure.

Definately Bang - I think the skimmer and return section will have more than enough room. THis configuration was put together to allow use and location of the existing ATO float. I think the fuge hallway that goes back to the return could be utilized for a fragging area.

Al your design looks amazing! I don't think I can build that, haha. Yeah Bang that's why I went with a 90 gallon sump so there would be plenty of room for water during a power outage. I have really good siphon breaks in the display tank. I fininshed the sump table/bench yesterday. Just have to call my buddy (electrician) to come over and put some plugs in for me.

Piece of cake HabsFan - I will get you sizes for all the glass and walk you through it. I notice you have your make up water resevoir on the right I am going to flip things around. I hope some other comment on the design but I think it will work - how do you like the idea of a frag rack on the fuge hallway. I will put some more stuff together tonight.

Yes I have the sump with the float and return pumps towards the auto top off container. I figure it will be that much closer to the display tank. The shorter the return line the better. The drains will be by the blue barrel (saltwater reservoir). Can we do it without the hallway? I only plan on having a lights for the scrubber down there. Not looking to have frags.

The reason I have the hallway is to get the fuge water to the return, any pods will go directly into the DT. I was hoping that some one else would chime in and comment on that for you. You don't need to grow frags there it was just an idea but with the setup shown you need to bypass the skimmer section. Let see if the others will chime in and comment.

Very nice drawings Al......Always top notch buddy!!!!!!

Curious as why the compartment configurations???? Why not put the skimmer and intake to the sump in the same compartment????? Then followed by the fuge, and then into the sump or put the fuge on the far end and the return in the center section???? That hole for the float really isn't a big deal.....That could easily be plugged and a new area for the float could be added??????
The design is workable.....I think the addition of the dual bubble towers suck up room in the skimmer compartment. The skimmer shouldn't be putting off mad bubbles, and you could actually orient the skimmer output farthest away from the return section, making the water travel around the skimmer to get to the return section allowing bubbles to disperse.....

The HabsFan didn't want to redrill a hole for the ATO float. So I came up with this config. So you are saying to not have baffles between the skimmer and return sections. I see what you mean about taking out the skimmer bubble tower.

No issues with the baffles between the skimmer and return section!!!! Just think bubble tower in skimmer section not needed.

OK Thanks buddy - I will do some changes - no issues with the hallway kind of run to the return if Habs Fan doesn't want to move the ATO float. Can a fuge run into a skimmer - I always thought it was better not too.
