Sure D, send it on over, we always have room for one more cat. In fact we even have room for J and the girls...

I am confused. You mention about getting rid of ALL 4, then I only see pictures of 4 kittens. Your count must be off, which one are you going to keep?

Keeping the Mom, getting rid of the 4 kittens.
I checked on getting her "fixed" today. Looks like it's going to cost me about $85 with one of these mobil vets trucks that come around once a month...

I knew you were going to keep mama, but I was wondering which Kitten you were going to keep also.

$85 is not bad at all to fix your cat. I think we paid that much for the anesthia (sp?) alone for some dogs a number of years ago.

Okay, so I take it from you two that $85 is not too bad? It's actually $70, but they said add $15 if she is pregnant, in heat, or lacktating. I just assummed the latter was still being a milk cow.....
I don't plan on waiting too long, so I figured in that she would still be "lacktating".....

Take it from a vet...That is a 'bargain'!

The only lower cost may be through your local humane shelter or SPCA if they offer that service.

Thanks Al. I supposed that I just thought that was a lot, but then again, I was raised on a farm. We snapped a rubberband around a steer's.....nevermind. Point being, for a .10 rubberband, that joker won't producin' no more.
Hey, I got a few more pics I'm getting ready to put up.

Well, they are 1 wk. old tomorrow. I called the mobil $70 "quick fix" vet bus today, and they said they would do the deed at about 8 wks (after she delivered). Will Mommy get prego again during this time? I saw her wonder outside of the garage today to use the bathroom. She kind of stared in the woods. I told her..."don't even think about it, or I'll fix you myself"....

D, I cannot answer your question. But how are they doing? How do your kids like the experience? One thing is this is something they will always remember.

You should be OK. Personally, I would keep mom inside until she is spayed. If that is not possible I would start introducing food to the kittens when they are about 3 weeks of age and try to wean them completely at about 4 weeks of age. Then try to 'encourage' the mobile vet to spay her 2 weeks later (about 5 weeks from now if the kittens are 1 week old now). This may not be perfect, but we all live in the 'real' world (where you get another unwanted litter), not the perfect one (where you don't).
