Scott (You are still alive). I have not heard from you in awhile....thought you might have run off and joined the Nascar circuit or something.
Kids are loving the kitties. I have been trying to keep them away as much as possible, as to let Mom do her thing. But fortunately, the weather has been nice, so the garage is working out great. Their eyes are still closed, but Mom is still taking excellent care. Wifey has convinced kids, to convince me, to keep at least one, but I have not agreed to anything. They want to keep a boy, but I'm worried about....well you know. Even when I get Mom fixed, do animals know that you don't do that kind of thingy. I have not agreed to anything yet, just waiting out my term and taking names of possible recipients. So far, it's 2 to you and 2 to Spidey.

You should be OK. Personally, I would keep mom inside until she is spayed. If that is not possible I would start introducing food to the kittens when they are about 3 weeks of age and try to wean them completely at about 4 weeks of age. Then try to 'encourage' the mobile vet to spay her 2 weeks later (about 5 weeks from now if the kittens are 1 week old now). This may not be perfect, but we all live in the 'real' world (where you get another unwanted litter), not the perfect one (where you don't).
I will call mobile vet bus tomorrow and see what they say. Good idea.
BTW....keeping inside is not an option. I could close the garage door all the way, but then she will pee/crap in the garage somewhere and I cannot handle that smell.

If you keep one neuter (boy) or spay (girl) at 6 months of age.

What do you mean here? If I fix the baby boy, and Mom, they will know not to "do it"?

You may be surprised to find that she would use a litter box if you set one up in the garage and put her in it a couple times to show her it is there. If you keep one of the kittens it will end end using a litter box too.
If you keep one neuter it at 5-6 months of age

'Call of the wild' knows no boundries. Neuter/spay any 4 legged animals that are not going to be 'show' or 'breeding' pets.

If you get juniour neutered you should not have any interesting sightings or questions from the kids!

I hear you D, I was just laughing over the smooth way that you put it.

You know I have kind of wondered about that too. I mean if you get two clowns there are from the same brood, so they are brother and sister, can they....you know......?

Okay folks.....kittens are weened. I have three up for grabs (Did I mention that they are FREE). Kids have talked me into keeping one (somehow one came out as a long haired cat....looks wild), but the other three are up for graps.
If no takers, I'm going to package them up swf style and send them to Scotts and Spiderwoman....

Do you have a litter box in with them? I got my kittens at 6 weeks old. I used a Chinese food container (not the cardboard box type, the plastic bottom piece of a meal container) as the litter box in a crate. They used it from day one. I had them in the crate when I wasn't home.

LOL I would if the two that I have weren't devil kitties! I love animals, but cat's can really try your patience. One is Kane, she knows herself as "Kane NO!!!" the other is Cali. She is good but meows often, mostly when everyone is sleeping lately. They get into a mood every night where they chase each other around the house. My Jack Russel always gets involved in the chasing of the kitties. It results in me having to check plugs on my tanks because they always manage to knock something loose, being that behind the four tanks are the best places to hide. Kane has a bell on her collar so I know where she is. She is the instigator of all bad activities. Then they cuddle up together like good kitties again. They are still young and have that evil streak in them.
