Look great

Quick question, in the first pic, do you happen to know the name of the zoas all the way on the right? I have the same ones and can't get an id on them

they are like a dark color in the middle like a maroon and black and that nice green? those right?
i have no clue. i like them though.
isthatright; dip all of your zoas, not just ones specific. just dip em all! and make sure to really look at them too

I personally use an iodine dip on all that I get in, unless it comes from a local tank that I trust.

no its not, but its super concentrated. a drop or 2 will do ya good in a dip. i use FW for a dip orrr i use Tank water/ iodine mix.
make sure not to over due the concentration of the iodine though..

no i havent ordered from here.
the bottle says x amount of drops for say 40 gallons... well you have to break that down. u dip them in a little bit of water. less than a gallon or maybe a gallon or so if youd like.
u dont want to over do the iodine and kill everything. i just made that mistake trying to dip some zoas quickly before i left for the weekend.
just take the drops and gallons it says and keeep breaking it down untill you get what you want to use for the amount of water..
let me know if that makes sense lol..

hey bill109 don't know when u might read this but theres only one lfs that sells any coral n i'm thinking about checking them out n want to make sure what i'm doing before i get any zooas. lugals has 2 sets of directions, 1 drop to 25 gal weekly, of course i'm not doing that , then as a coral dip 40 drops to a gal, wow just seems like alot.

It is unless you're dipping a ton of zoas, thats why as Bill said, you reduce it down dependent on the water amount you wish to use (i.e. 20 drops for half a gallon, 5 drops for a pint, or 2 to 3 drops for a cup). If you're only dipping a small frag, a cup of water is more than sufficient.

well i bought my first zoas today n there already opening. when i dipped them i couldn't believe the tiny little bugs that were swimming around, creepy, so glad i where gloves. bill109 u said i should really look at them before putting them in i guess, what should i be looking for,the bugs i saw in the bottom of the cup were so small i had to put on my readers to see them better, they r fast! so i'll try to get some pics n see what happens from here.

just look at them make sure they look healthy. if you dont dip make sure u take a good hard look at them. make sure these are no predators in there. u dont want to introduce any new predators into your tank.
if you dip, just make sure its a "solid" dip. and not a dip, count to 3 and out they come.
you should be fine with the dip you have done. but all im saying about the checking them out is, know what your looking for this way if you are in the store u can look at them and say, hey there is a nudibranch on these. etc.
i took some new zoas home from my lfs, got them in the car and looked at the zoas in the bags. there sitting in the car i found a nice little patch of nudi eggs.. it wasnt good at all. so i went back in and just swapped them with something else.

well i hate to say it but i put them in the tank already. they r so small that i can't imagine being able to see any little eggs on them, seriously they r much smaller than i ever thought they would be, i hope they get bigger. i did dip them for 10min though, so i hope that was enough.
