Wow, this was wild. I was doing the water change in our reef tank, during which I shut down the filters and powerheads. I noticed one of our cleaner shrimp had eggs underneath the day before, but hadn't seen her today. Just as I'm about to add the water, I see a cloud of tiny particles come out from under the rock. I looked closely, and saw that they were tiny, tiny shrimp, swimming like mad all over the place. When I saw the cleaner shrimp later, the eggs were gone, so I can only assume they hatched. There were thousands of these little things swimming everywhere, and the only reason we noticed was because the water flow in the tank was off. Our cardinals had a field day sucking up the little shrimp, as did our mandarin.
Question: Anyone have any idea how to raise baby cleaner shrimp? I could have scooped a cup of water and had 20-30 in there. Anyone have any luck with this? Anyone know references on where to find out? Thanks. I would give out cigars, but I don't have 20,000.
