I also think Leinart clinched the Heisman, not just because of his season and the ND game, but because the two players at OU are going to take away alot of votes from each other. Now yall just need to suck up to the voters here in the South and NorthEast because we don't have any legit heisman hopefuls. ReefRaff, how about our favorite coach over at Nebraska and his great first year? First losing season in over 40years! Westcoast offense works great with an option team.

Leinart might have a chance but he needs to seperate himself from the pack stat wise to win it. Carroll wont leave him in to run up stats like other coaches have done so I don't know how good his chances are. I think it will be a real surprise when the Heisman winner is announced, no one is running away with it this year.
Auburn again huh? Didn't SC play them last year? Like 30 to zip SC as I remember.

I have GOT to stop drinking so much on football weekends! I'm afraid Leinart did a lot towards winning the Heisman in that game. It was going to be hard for Oklahma's White and Peterson both being up for it anyway.

At this point all I can say is I hope SC, OU and Aub end up undefeated. Perhaps with two straight years of controversy we can finally get a playoff.

I was listening to Bob Davie (ND's former coach) on ESPN radio the other day and he had a great suggestion for the end of the year BCS poll. Take the Computers and media guys out of it and send all 116 coaches(as long as the school didn't fire their coach, then they would just not vote) and send them tapes of the last three games of Auburn, USC, and OU and let the coaches watch the films and decide who should play for the championship. I agree with this because the coaches know more about what it takes to build a championship team and what it takes to win a championship than any computer or any media guy.

I don't like that idea liverock. I think many coaches would vote biasly towards other teams such as Mac Brown (UT) or Les Miles (Oklahoma State) would most likely vote to "get back" at Oklahoma for loosing.

I want a playoff. Division 1 AA students have to work every bit as hard if not harder for their grades and the playoff doesn't hurt them.
Let the top 16 teams after Thanksgiving weekend start the playoff the following week. Use the 4 major bowl games as quarter finals on new years day and let cities bid for the simi finals and the championship game. Not only would the Colleges make money, people in areas other than Pasadina, Miami, Phoenix and wherever the hell the Sugar Bowl is played would have a chance to go.

Ty_05_f, I disagree with you. I think that coaches would put in a good bit of work to make sure the right team was in the championship and that they would not vote based on likes or dislikes. I would almost say that Texas or OK state would be more likely to vote for OU because of losing to them and trying to make sure that one of the teams from their confrence was in the title game. I agree with reefraff about the playoff system. You could use the big bowl games names as the different playoff games, so you keep the big money sponsores and you can rotate the championship game between the current BCS games like is done now.

Yes, it was. My son and his friend a Tenn fan are at the OU game. Your game got so close I had to call the stadium every 10 minutes to update some of the Tenn fans.
Any Auburn, USC or Cal fan that tries to make excuses today shouldn't have anyone's ear. Today is all OU
That Reggie Bush is someone to watch though:)
I've always said I wanted Auburn and not USC. Sorry we won't get them. I think they are a better team, but Oklahoma IS the best in the nation.
Texas should move into the #4 spot.
And if the Heisman voters who were waiting for today to cast their votes, vote for the best Jason White will be the 2nd back-to-back Heisman winner in history.

I doubt White gets the heisman. He really didn't set himself apart from his peers. I think the Texas RB deserves it as much as anyone.
Colorado played like a bad high school team.

I doubt he'll get it too but he should. I think Matt Leinert will get it. Then we'll have a national champhionship with 2 Heisman winners at qb. Looks good for the fans, oh yeah and the money. Jason deserves it though and I think the stats show he did set himself apart from his peers.
Colorado played like Colorado which is pretty much what you said.

There are QB's with better states than White, he and Leinert are neck and neck. I don't think Leinert deserves it either. All I hear is talk about them and Peterson and Bush. Bush, I think is going to be great but he doesn't have the kind of stats to be a serious contender.
There will be a bias against giving White the Heisman again but now that I think about it Leinert might get a bump from people who want to see two Heisman winners fight it out for the title. That would be too bad cause there are players who deserve it more. I think if it came down to White and Leinert with even stats you would have to consider that White is in his sixth year, playing behind a killer line(average of 37 starts each) while Leinert is a Junior who lost his two best receivers right out of the gates. I think I'd give Leinert the edge because of that.

Well, the SEC is going to be left out of the National Championship, but the two best teams, OU and USC, deserve to play. About the Heisman, like I said earlier I think Peterson will take a enough votes away from White to keep him from winning the Heisman. Yall have to think the BCS is a joke if Pitt is playing in a BCS game and Texas or Cal is not. UGA is still the best two lost team in the nation, sorry I just had to add that :D .

Now people are talking about Bush from SC getting the Heisman so maybe something good will happen and none of the guys from SC or OU will get it.

In the2000 Heisman vote, Josh Heupel came in a close second to Chris Weinke a 28 year old! And I hear complaining about White being 24 and old man...people get real. Guess what we did to FSU and their Heisman winner that year! Our defense showed exactly why Weine didn't deserve it.
I too think that the 2 Heisman winner game could give Leinert a boost. So be it. OUr defense will take care of him at the dance. Heisman or not.
And those Auburn whiners talking about Mack Brown politicing for votes....give me a break. Why don't they just go ahead and say the AP and Coaches can be bought? And that's the system most a promoting...again.
