alright gotcha! shouldn't they all spike at some point tho??
not saying your wrong.. I just have no idea lol

if you claim that your tank cycled, then they did all spike.
you should have witnessed a huge rise in nitrates though

no im not saying i think it is cycled. I don't think that at all. heck if I thought that it would have corals and fish already lol I am saying the water that i got was cycled already, and the LR and LS was already in a tank and had bee cycled. I figure I have minimum 2 more weeks time before even the CUC goes in. just trying to make sure I have it correct that everything will spike at different times and when they all hit 0 again I am all set for some living things

yes they will all spike
nitrates will continue to rise until you do a water change
corals would appreciate a more established tank to be put in

definatly checked it out and subscribed! tank is looking great!!! how soon before you added a CUC. and also what would be a relativly small CUC that would still get the job done in my tank?
thats a question for everyone just so I can get an idea and price wise. I figured a CUC for about $40???

6/22
Salinity 1.024
PH- 8.2-8.4
Ammonia- 0 ppm
Nitrite- 0 ppm
Nitrate- 0 ppm
that cant possibly mean the ammonia is done and cycled right??? only went up to about .25?

Pretend that there are fish already in there and monitor the ammo, trite, and trates for a while to ensure that it is cycled.

ya continue the ghost feeding for a bit and monitoring the levels
i think i added my clean up crew right when my cycle was done
for your tank, id recommend
2-3 turbo snails
10 nassarius
3 astreas
i would stay away from hermits. i hate mine, they are killing my snails!
so if anyone wants 4 hermits... lol

aw man I really liked your hermits too! they look great!!!
I will ghost feed then. how long should I ghost feed and see no spike? like a week with no spike and I am probably already cycled?

yup already have plans for that too. I was planning on adding it after we see if the tank is cycled yet or not tho, just so it didnt mess something up

adding more LR will cause another spike so its better to add it sooner than later before you have livestock in your tank

I might just add some more base rock, cheaper and looks nicer and will eventually become LR.
6/23
PH- 8.2 (added buffer)
Ammonia - 0ppm
Nitrite- 0ppm
Nitrate- 0ppm
Salinity- 1.024
added Calcium to make sure its ready for corals. the buffer says to use it for a week, that's why I always add a little to it to make it balance out. seems like the tank is ready to go.
I also ghost fed it again today too, no spikes
