because you need more...
natural filtration
caves and hiding places for your fish
your tank seems kind of empty now.... no offense
do you only have base rock in there?

no offense taken, no worries. no there is some live rock in there also.... just more base rock. will the tank have to cycle after adding the new live/base rock? like cycle all again?

you could buy cured live rock which should only cause a short spike

if you buy cured lr, i would guess you shouldnt see a spike lasting longer than a week (at the longest)

i am going to bring a couple pieces back that look odd in the formation and get a piece of LR instead... the base rock should turn into live rock anyways... just a matter of time

yes but live rock is essential in cycling a tank and establishing natural filtration

6/25
PH-8.0-8.2 (added a little buffer)
Salinity- 1.022 ( added salt)
Ammonia- 0ppm
Nitrite- 0ppm
Nitrate- 0ppm
ok so after adding base rock it seemed to throw the salinity off a bit.. thats why I am adding more salt.
also... why is it so hard to tell the PH levels?? its like between 3 of them. why does it fluctuate like that? will my salt amount change every time I do a water change?? more salt is better then less correct??
just full of questions right now! lol

quick question... would a maroon clown be too big for a 14 gallon??
...also it gets huge and your tank is not well suited for that clown
so, i would not

ok thats what I figured...
added buffer means I added some P.H buffer. it is becoming very very very difficult to tell what color the PH one is. it could be one of 3... and I am only adding a very little every time. and added salt.. well my salinity seems low, around 1.020 after adding the new rock, so I am trying to get it to 1.024

i mean why would you add buffer, your PH was fine at 8.2
also how did you add the salt?

I just added the salt in the back compartment before the filter so it would get all mixed up and stuff.... no spikes or anything after about a week of ghost feeding it.....
