everything still going well.... they dont seem to like the flake too much... I watched them eat it right up in the store.. and now they seem to be pickier eaters! lol I also tried freeze dried blood worms (what I feed my betta's) and they didnt seem to like those either.
Any one have any suggestions of what they might eat? I heard freeze dried krill? any ideas would be great, dont want them to dislike what they are eating
emerald crabs? sheesh, mine eat flake, pellet, mysis, brine, and algae sheets. they are scavengers and will also eat dead fish.

no no the crabs will eat anything lol its my clowns that I am a little worried about... they dont like the spirulina fresh/marine flakes... or the blood worms, so now I have some krill, and omega one marine flakes... they do seem to eat the omega flakes, just not very many of them? and they seem to just spit them back out! they seemed to like the krill, just gotta cut it in smaller pieces

are they breathing rapidly? spitting food out + rapid breathing = brooklynella. Do you notice any white or faded spots on either of them? get some mysis to them. maybe some cyclopeez too.

there moving around really fast... and they are so tiny, I can't tell if there breathing heavy or not... no spots or anything. these 2 little guys have been at my favorite LFS for a month plus now and never had any issues with them or anything. my girl says she has seen them eat without spitting it back up... maybe they just dont eat much at all??

Looking good so far. I always had problems with the moonlights on my biocube too. They finally just quit working altogether and I got a DIY and installed it in the hood. Tryed several times to contact Biocube (think it is actually Allglass) and finally got hold of one of the most ruddest receptionists ever talked too so blew it off. Had problems with the fans eventually too so chunked the hood and went with a Sunpod instead for lighting.
Needless to say I am not a Biocube fan. lol
You are not the only one that has had problems with the service, after calling numerous times about warranty issues I finally got through to someone live and then right when I started talking the put me on hold and then ended hanging up!

you hung up?? or they did? cuz if you did... then you have no patcience lol but if they did then thats no good. I am VERY lucky to have a friend who works at my favortie local fish store, so he just called and got it set right out... big companys tend to listen to the smaller companys that buy there product

ok as some of you know I am getting some Diatoms in the tank now... here are my readings after having the diatoms for about 3 days now
7/10
PH-8.4
Ammonia- 0-.25ppm
nitrite-0ppm
Nitrate-10ppm
salinity-1.021
everything seems normal for now at least... I have a 5G bucket ready with salt water and I am ready to do a water change if the conditions get worse. from what I know and have heard, the clowns are pretty hardy and it shouldnt be an issue for them to make it through this

planning on a water change late this afternoon pending my test results. the diatons seen to be going away.... the crabs are both sitting on the rock picking at it which I am sure helps. I believe my mexican turbo snail has died tho.... It has been in the exact same spot for 5 days now...

They need really established tanks with A LOT of rockwork and copepods to live comfortably. I purchased one months ago based on its beauty alone, but it got so skinny and I knew it was unhealthy so I gave it to my buddys tank :p

yup just heard the same thing from my buddy. he is putting in a HUGE order some fish at I forget where, and I was trying to think of a 3rd fish... no luck so far tho. he said basically the exact same thing about the copepods and well established tank

See if you like "Shrimpgoby Yellow-Watchman", thats my 3rd fish, they get along with clowns well and eat the same food..Im not 100% sure but I think their somewhat related to the clown family? correct me if im wrong.

Thought you was going to get a Hectors Goby ? those are some super cool fish and they are good at sifting sand as well :) They also eat pods like the mandarin goby but will also eat cyclopeeze. I love mine and have had him a few months now with no problems. There are a ton of pods in my tank as well for him to pick at but i have seen the ones at the lfs eat frozen cyclopeeze. Well the tank is looking great. Love the clowns. cant wait til you get coral and all that other good stuff but be patient and take it slow :)

well I really want a hectors goby... but I cant find one anywhere, SWF.com doesn't have them, maybe I can order it when my friend does a big store order.
and its official... my Mexican Turbo Snail is dead... I went to move him and something fell out which I am assuming was at one point him. so I will be going back to get another and maybe a coral banded shrimp too. anyone know if the coral banded shrimp will go after the peppermint shrimp in these closer quarters??

7/16
PH- 8.2
Nitrate- 10-20ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Ammonia-.25-.50
I did my first water change today of about 2-3 gallons so I know that will take the trates down... but what about the ammonia? I believe doing a water change will lower those as well correct?
I also added/waiting to add another Mexican turbo snail because my other one got stuck between a rock and a hard place(glass) no pun intended and I also saw a beautiful green mushroom which I HAD to have and for such a great price too!!! $20 for 2 heads about 2.5" in diameter each and a 3rd head just starting to... sprout? pictures will be up soon!!!

ok two things... one of my emerald crabs seems to be a bully and attacks the other slightly smaller one... he also sits on my Zoa's and I am starting to dislike him thinking he is causing damage... so If anyone wants a free emerald crab let me know and I will pull him out and ship him, all you pay is shipping for him.
also the lighting on the BioCube is considered PC lighting correct??
