it also was yet another CONFERENCE loss which is key for seeding and tiebreakers if it comes down to that situation. The crowned best team by some in the nfc sure looked pretty bad last night.
Dallas may not even make the playoffs.
I'll say it again...they have a HUGE game next Sat night. Should the crowned Golden Boy play like he did last night along with the rest of the Boys and Dallas looses....thay may be watching the second season on TV.

Next week will be a win for Romo and the Cowboys and they will make the playoffs. Heck, every team loses. Look at the Colts yesterday and last week. They have lost two weeks in a row but that does not mean Peyton Manning is a bad quarterback. He is still the best QB in the league.
Dallas has a win against Atlanta and Detroit. Even if they lose to Philadelphia in Dallas, they still end the season 10-6. Personally, I do not see Atlanta, Minnesota, or Carolina getting in.

oh and Brees and Reggie sure did look good...

The entire offense looked great. We did not even have all our weapons last night on offense and defense...and we still beat down the best team in the nfc as crowned by some.
Good teams have bad games....but what a stinker. After that long run by Jones which should have given Dallas the Mo they went in the turlet.
When the Saints do not turn the ball over they are tough to beat by ANY team in the nfl.
Even I sold this team short...they are darn good and are obviously the second best team in the nfc based on record. I guess the crown by some will be taken now from Dallas and the Golden Boy and given to the Saints and Brees. I'd rather they give it to some one else...and we should earn it. But, we did beat down that tough defense last night...they looked lost for most of the night.

Normally, I would agree with that but Dallas Parcell teams have faded is his first three years . I beleive each year they finsihed 2-3 over the last 5 games. He was still able to make the playoffs his first year.
The COwboys on paper are better than Atlanta.......but they have to go on the road with one less day to prepare.
Perhpas that Dallas win over the Colts contributed to their current slide...as well as the the Saints beat down could contribute to a Dallas and ROmo slide.
Beat downs sometimes are hard to bounce back from.... ..but good teams and QB's are able to do it.

Love how everyone has to live vicariously thru Scuba's team because weve already POUNDED all their weak teams. Didnt we beat you by like a 100??? not sure?
Congrats Scuba. Sean certainly outcoached Bill BIGTIME. Parcells did exactly what i feared. He sat back and put ZERO pressure on Brees and let him pick us apart. For the life of me ill never understand what Parcells sees in practice that makes him think that Williams is better covering a receiver faster than him 40 yards downfield rather than blitzing :help:
Also, Bill had 2 completely inexcusable plays that cost us any chance and shows how overrated he is.
1. Maybe im wrong but i expect 30 year head coaches to know the rules. I thought everyone older than 12 knew you cant throw the challenge in the last 2 minutes. Bill certainly should. He should have called a timeout(we had 3) after that imcomplteion was called a catch not throw a challenge and get a 15 yard penalty. What is the point of challenging a 20 yard catch if he gets a 15 yard penalty??? The game was 14-7 and without the penalty would have been 3rd and 20 at the 43.
2.On a well coached team, the absolute last thing said before EVERY kickoff is WATCH FOR THE ONSIDE KICK!!! Of course, Bill is a lazy old man now and doesnt think its necessary to do this on every kickoff now apparently. Completely inexcusable.
We started with a good series on offense and defense then got completely outcoached. How exactly can you be facing a STRUGGLING run defense, run for 77 yards on the 1st play and then only run 5 more times the entire half???? The 2 best things we do, we didnt try at all last night. Blitzing and running

The offensive schem simply presents probelms for ALL defenses. Blitz and you may get burned with a screen to Bush. VBlitz and you have to man up on the receievers.
Certainly, the COwboys cound and should have adjusted at half time but it appeared they had no answers. That happens sometimes.
I have planty respect for parcells...but not knowing the rules as a head coach is inexcusable.
Also, Mr Gramatica also missed a very makable kick and is now 3-5 for the season. Right at his career average 60%. I doubt he is your answer for you kicking woes.
Dallas can bounce back...but a loss against the Falcons might sink the boat for the season.
I guess TO was the only one that listened to parcells championaship speech. I t appeared to me the entrie team must have slept though that speech.
I'm glad Payton showed some class in the end and took a knee with 3 minutes left. The Saints had nothing left to prove.
I did agree with the onside kick..as the game was only at 18 points with plenty time left. I did not view that as a run up the score...it was...you're down..and we are going to keep you there for the remainder of this game.
I was VERY surprised that Fred THomas was able to cover TO for much of the game. he had been picked on all season long but appered to stay step for step with TO. it appeared to me Mr TO was very frustrated even after the fluke TD catch. That should have never happened but it showed good concentration on the part of TO and was a big play at the time . Other than that one play, I thought Fred Thomas did a pretty good job when he lined up on TO.....and he is a below average corner.

A loss is a loss. Not much you can do but comeback prepared next week. I am not going to be a poor sport about the loss. We got our asses handed to us, that is what happened. I wouldnt say NO is a much better team, any body can beat anybody any given day..... the Titans pounded on the Colts does that make them a much better team? So that isnt a valid argument. But theyre sure alot of POOR WINNERS on these boards for a team that they dont even represent. Im happy that you feel that an iomportant part of your day is to come and think that your hasseling cowboy fans..... at least we will be in the playoffs while your teams are Ice Fishing at the local pond.

Also VERY Funny how before the game the pull was 9-7 then after the game everybody votes for the winner
:hilarious
That game was :hilarious .... probably the best thing that couldve happened to the Cowboys

I totally agree with you on all points, Oceanists.
The Cowboys needed a loss to be brought back to earth.
Any team can beat anyone on any given Sunday. A few examples from yesterday: Dolphins over Patriots, Cardinals over Seahawks, Jags over Colts.
I hope the Cowboys come back next week with a ton of fire in the and crush Vick and the Falcons.

its not hasseling... its just simple statements made to combat the many many many posts of "if its not cowboys it sucks"... done in fun and love for competition/the nfl... besides if you cant smack talk it would take alot of the fun of cheering on your team or teams you want to lose...

I am with you ruaround....I am Colts fan, but I am also a fan of whoever is playing the Cowbys on a given week.
I agree that a little trash talk done in good taste is okay after a game given the "discussion" before hand.
Just don't take it too far......

The Titans are playing at a much higher level now and the Colts have come back to the pack with their level of play over the past month. Titans turned their season around late due to the play of Young. IMO...the Titans are the better team right now based on level of play. The Dolphins also are playing much better after their bye week so it is hard to short change them on their victory against the Patriots. The Seahawks are the benefactors of playing in a weak dvision and they have not been playing the type of ball they did last year. They have strufggled with close wins most of the season so the AZ victory was not that big an upset.
Saints have won three in a row by margins of victory, 18, 24 and 25. They have only ONE loss in the nfc....so they appear to be among the top two or three teams in the conference. Dallas appears to me to be closer to the middle of the pack given their overall conference record.
Of course, it all depends how you are playing in jan as proved by Pitt last year. So, there is time for the Cowboys to recover and win the division and make a run in Jan. They are in first place now, but as I have stated...do not fair well regarding tiebreakers.
IMO...the Saints are the more talented team overall. We did not even have all our guns...yet we won with ease. I beleive someone stated in the post great teams overcome injuries....yep, we sure did.

It only shows the dominance weve enjoyed that everyone is happy when we lose. For most franchises(NO included), winning a game like that against us is as good as it will ever get. We are their Superbowl. The fact is we are still in great shape for the playoffs. This loss probably killed any superbowl hopes but will most likely set up a 2nd round rematch in NO. A superbowl would be amazing but all I really want this year is the playoffs and Romo to be an established starter to build a superbowl team around next year. We arent the Colts where anything but a Title is a severe disappointment this year.
I disagree that the loss was "good for us". Its never good to get beat that bad but it can sometimes help a team to refocus. Well see next week against the Falcons if it was good or bad.
As far as the onside kick, it was a great move by Payton and definitely not running it up. We were moving the ball at that time and might have gone right down the field and scored to keep the game close. Like i said before, i played fairly big time middle school and high school football and EVERY coach i ever had said to watch the onsides EVERY single kickoff. To let a team get away with it is sheer laziness and completely unacceptable. In about the last 10 years, their have been 5 surprise onsides kicks that i can remember against the Cowboys. 4 the kicking team has recovered and 1 Randall Williams returned for a td against the Eagles a few years ago. Completely unacceptable!
p.s.-Ruaround should be on his hands and knees thanking you Oceanists and mainly me. For the 1st time in awhile, he finally has a reason to watch NFL football again

Jax pounded the Colts and their wekness is obvious. It will be tough for the Colts to beat anybody in the palyoffs if they continue to struggle scoring points. Last year they were able to light up the scoreboard...this year has been different. Also, they simply cannot stop the run right now...and that is a big problem
Jax right now is the better team..and the Colts do have some key players injured.
I look at how teams are playing during the course of the season in order to judge the quality of the win/loss. You can have a team that plays poor in the fisrt quater or even half of a season...to come back and play at a much higer level for the remaider of the season. You can also have a teams that plays great for a stretch...then goes in the tank for a stretch.

New Orleans showed up bigtime and took us to the woodshed. Scuba got a big win and deserves the spoils and as im sure you all know I REALLY DONT LIKE IT!!!
That being said, I do find it pretty hilarious that someone whose team got HUMILIATED even worse than we did(for the 3rd time in 4 weeks i might add) and lost to us, could be talking trash. But like i said, if you cant win yourself, the next best thing is to root against the teams that can

p.s.- i would like to thank you though Tx reef. I have Maurice Jones Drew in both my fantasy leagues and advanced in both playoffs thanks to the Dolts defense :cheer:

ohhh yes... you and you alone are the reason i watch football emmitt... WTF is that statement supposed to mean... is this yet another one of your weak attempts to say that i am stupid, ignorant or a lesser person cuz i dont like the same team as you???
i am anything but jealous of the success that the cowboys have had in the PAST... they really havent done anything in the last 9 or 10 seasons... the reason why i root for the team playing against the Cowboys is because i have several friends that are Cowboy fans... only 2 were fans in the 80's the rest jumped the band wagon in the early 90's and then fell off and are now sprouting up again... and every Cowboy fan says the same thing if anyone says anything negative to them about the current year "we have 5 rings...what can you say about our team... blah blah blah"...
there have been many great players on the Cowboys... some i like some i dislike... you prolly think the same of other teams... no biggy we all should... i really dont care for the Raiders or the Broncos either and root against them weekly as well...

Please, you know exactly what it means. You know for a FACT that you were GLUED to the screen(more than any game for your own team i might add!) praying we lost so you could come on here and talk smack to ME

Your welcome

p.s.- i certainly dont have to refer to our 5 titles or the past when referring to Tampa!!! We just crushed you 3 weeks ago and your team has ZERO hope for the future. Oh i forgot, lemme guess, you guys won a title 5 years ago since our last one. Guess the past does mean something, huh? Funny how teams want to bring up the past when it suits them but just dont want us to bring up the 5 titles

sorry to let you down... but i was at a christmas party last night... didnt find out the final score until about 11 pm when i watched sports center... beleive what you want and twist words to fit your agenda and your needs as you typically do to make you look the better or smarter... did you write "thank you for smoking"???
youre right... this year doesnt look good at all... i have yet to make an excuse for the play of the team i enjoy to cheer on and still am proud to wear my Bucs garb... but just goes to show i am still a true fan and because of a bad season i am not going to jump ship on em... its a sad moment when you go from saying "theres always next week" to "well i am looking forward to next season"...

No reason to keep it going. No matter what you say emmitt2 will twist it on you and try to stir things up.
I have never been a Cowboys fan and never will be. I really disliked them during the 90s not because of their success, but because everyone jumped on the bandwagon.
