OK...I am at a loss here.....I have some blotchy spots of cyano appearing in my 225G
phospahtes are just about 0.....nitrates are 0
Everything seems to be growing great though......I am going to do a water change tomorrow...40G's.....
WELL let me get right to the question....I have some sps now, WILL it harm them if I just keep the T5's on for a day, and my MH lights off?????

I have flow all over ....and my TDS tests at 001
this is why I do not understand why this is happening....some of the blotchy spots are in direct flow
and YES I am sure it is cyano....I have been siphoning out the best i can with a sea squirt (I HATE IT) only thing I have that will reach the bottom of a 30" tank

sure wish I could find a 2' baster LOL....And the 4 piece rio set is still on backorder

What exactly am I supposed to do with the flexible tubing? Attach it to my baster......I AM NOT siphoning it with my mouth

The sea squirt is long enough....just the opening is too small....YES I have made it a little bigger too....I thought about taking the whole pointed end off.....BUT IDK if that will ruin it all together or not

fill the tube with water within the tank, then plug the end that you are going to have in the waste bucket with your thumb then bring that end out of the tank and down to the waste bucket BELOW the tank. release your thumb, suck out cyano, lift the otehr end of the hose out of the water to break siphon, repeat in 3 days when it comes back.

Thanks....it's just certain spots....So I know I can get it.....I just siphon it...but it comes back....I have done everything I read and advise people to do.....and it is not working.....I'm not worried yet though....LOL....BUT IF I wake up to a tank covered you will hear me screaming all the way in NY, FL, and ALASKA LOL

Sorry....Not ignoring you...got sidetracked cleaning the cascade on the 54G...and then it leaked....GRRRR...got that taken care of for now anyway, NOW I NEED A DRINK!!!!!
with the MH lights out the cyano seems to be less......there is very little for me to remove right now.....I will do the w/c tomorrow, and leave the MH lights off till Sunday
