Oh it is going to kill me, but waiting is the only thing I can do...it's either wait or lose my wife and home...LOL....I would have built that room for nothing, cause she'll kick me out the house...ha ha ha ha....I am easing my way into this. I guess I went about it the wrong way, should have bought all my equipment first then built the room. But when all else fails, I will throw my kids in the empty tank and watch them act crazy...did that earlier actually and took pictures....too funny.
But like I said, I would love to have this thing up and running well before then, but $$ wise, I will have to peice this all together slowly...unless I do like some others on this site, get a part time to support my new addiction... but then I won't have time to go to my AA (Aquatics Anonymous) meetings...Hi my name is Ismael and I am addicted to satwaterfish.com...:help:

Well my wife wasn't happy when I got my new 120 but after she saw the final product she's very happy.

If you're worried about the structure supporting the tank, you might consider putting plywood, or planks underneath the base of the tank. That way, the weight from the center of the tank would be distributed to the structural members you already have in place. I don't know if this is a simple, or complex solution, but by simply making the base more table-like, the weight coming down in the center can be adequately supported. For what it counts, I think you have enough support, but you just need to make sure that the weight load is getting distributed the most effecient way.
It looks fantabulous! I can't wait to get a home some day, and put something like this in there.

Unfortunately no, I don't. I just put up the wall and tank, but with the holidays, I do not have the "capital" to set up the tank. But hopefully in the next couple of months I can start putting into the tank.....Wife permitting..

This weekend I am going to try and find a skimmer locally, if not order one. I am also going to place an order for about 150 lbs of sand. I have about 50 lbs of live rock right now which I believe will help kick start the cycling process. I have a bucket of IO Reef Crystals for 160 gallons. Going to buy the PVC for plumbing the tank. Going to convert my current tank into the sump / fuge......now here is where I have my questions (although I have NO doubt that I missed something above)
I have in my current tank (it's about a 50 gallon, I believe, it was given to me):
Yellow Tang
Neon Goby
Zebra Serpent Star
Sand Sifting Star
A small clean up crew about 5 hermits and 4 turbo snails
So if I steal their home for a sump/fuge would they be safe in a rubbermaid until the 135 is cycled? Ideas on what I can do for my little guys would be greatly appreciated.

what i did was i used a 40 something contianier(i think) took some of the LS from the tank and put in the bottom of the container, then drained half of the water into the container, transfered the fish to the container then finished moving the some LR and the rest of the water with a heater, PH, and the HOT filter that i had running on it. had it running that way for a couple weeks while i redid the tile under the tank and upgraded. i didn't have any thing die. hope that gives you an idea :happyfish

Thanks for the information sacfishguy, that is probably what I will do. I was also thinking of buying a 10 - 20 gallon tank to house them temporarily but:
1. I think the folks on this site would have me arrested and booted off this site for having a tang in such a small tank for any period of time
2. I could probably just use the the 20 gallon as the fuge...but then again, I can also have the 20 gallon as a QT, which I don't have at the moment....
will keep you guys posted, thanks

Thank you very much....it is great to hear when professionals and other experience hobbyists who have seen setups before approve my amatuer work...I have had others at work and such tell me it looks good, but most of these folks aren't the hadny types of people...so thanks I do appreciate it.
