Thanks, I have that CaribSea Aragonite (the really fine sugar grained aragamax that runs about $21 for a 30 lb bag at most LFS)
I do like the look of it. A nice little clean up crew helps keep the junk off of it...

Your tank is amazing! I am so jealous, one day I hope to have a huge reef tank. Finally upgraded my lights (sooner than expected!), and am going to start corals in the near future. Love you tank, awesome job.

No need for jealousy, if I could do it, anyone could. Thank you very much for the kind words. Alot of work setting it up, but definitely not rocket science.

Thank you, it is still a work in progress. I need to touch up the wall a bit. The back of the tank (in some places where I have been sloppy with water changes and such) needs to be touched up with paint because it is peeling. I am hoping that i'll get some coraline growth and won't have to paint it. And naturally, most of my corals are frags so I still have TONS of room to put things in. But as ReefforBrains said in another thread, this tank was made by "a real person on a realistic budget." Which is why I don't have it full already. But it is nice to watch it grow.

I like the rockwork in that tank a lot! It is very natural. I feel like I am under the sea when I look at your tank. Nice job!

Absolutely wonderful tank there. I'm impressed and love the diversity of coral you've chosen. Can't wait to see how some of those frags fill out more over time.

I want to thank you all for the words.....I do appreciate them. TriGa22, you're right, not so embarrassed anymore. Although I still have a ton to fill here, I like the way it looks thus far.
Rebel, I can't wait to see what I place in there in the next 6 months also....But before then, I am eyeing a couple of nano tanks...one for my office, the other for my wifes...LOL...man this is worse than crack!!!!!!
Anyhow...I feel like a brand new dad, I bought some of these Aeon Flux zoanthids online for $20/head not too long ago. I got 3 full heads and 2 babies for 70 bucks....I was looking at this thing today and there are a total of 9 heads (you can barely tell #1, but that is the smallest headand is under that big one).....Woooo Hoooo......I am so excited. This is one of the species I want in my office nano.....can't wait until some get a little bigger, actually ALOT bigger. I am going to love a colony of these things..

Hey all, well as we all know...Life Happens....we are moving to from Kansas City back "home" to San Antonio to be closer to some sick family members. So I got rid of EVERYTHING in my tank today. I kept some equipment....a couple of pumps, my 250w MH, top off and RO/DI units. Unfortunately, I will be out of the hobby for a while until we get settled in TX. But I took the opportunity to start preparing for my next aquatic venture.
I started in the hobby last April with a 42 gallon, then in June I received a 135 gallon tank that I thought would take me a year to get set up....I was able to get it set up and started cycling it in Jan of this year and have been running it with great success...Because I built a wall around the tank, I am going to leave it in the house for sale.
And now to my point.....I love this hobby and will get back into it again...so I am happy to announce that I picked up a brand new Reef Ready 220 gallon (72 x 24 x 30) tank.....Wooo Hooooo

Thought I would share the news I am so very excited....can't wait until I get back to Texas, get moved in, settled and the new one up and running....

Thanks NEreef, Hefner413, and mushroomss.....however, mushroomss, I already have two children...LOL...I cannot have anymore...but I will put you on the list should things change...LOL....and Hefner, yeah I hope it does turn out better.....in my mind it is going to be a beast and look really good, but we'll see...only time will tell.
We are going to put the house up on the market next week. Not everyone is a fish fanatic and may not want a wall with a 135 sitting in it....so I will give it a month to get some feedback on whether it is appealing to buyers. If not, I will be even MORE excited because I really don't want to get rid of the tank. Although it is now empty and cleaned out...that 135 would make one hell of a sump/refugium. And that wall I built could easily be taken down.

"wall I built could easily be taken down"???!!!
You say that like.. eh, it's nothing at all.... I wish I had that ability!
So what ideas do you have for your 220? Another in wall setup?
