Dane Cook sucks. He has to be the most over-rated comic I have ever seen, and I have seen many comics.
The guy does not even make me crack a smile during 90 % of his set.
I laugh more at my fish.
what do your fish do that is so funny?

I agree, maybe some more mature comedians would be slightly harder to understand for a teen, but the non-jerk said...

Meaning 95% of Cook's material would go over his head. I would love to see the equation for that ratio,
because his jokes aren't very hard to follow
I'm not saying I agree w/ PEZ, I actually like Dane's stand-up (not the last 1 so much, the one before).

I would like to know what part of Cook's comedy would be over anyone's head that has taken s_x education.... or had a class in DARE. I think that pretty much sums up Dane's act.
Exactly

LMAO!! I like it when he starts talkin about pop tarts. His facial expressions, and just the way he talks is so funny.

I have a sort of soft spot for Dane Cook. His big popularity boom was 2005, my spring-freshman, fall-sophmore college years. Right when I was coming into "my own." He came to UCF and we waited for 3 hours in the rain to get in. Dane stayed after the show and signed everyone's autograph and met everyone that wanted to. Even if his comedy is okay, and he steals a couple jokes, he's a great person, really level headed. If you get a chance, look for Dane Cook's Tourgasm. Was a TV series on HBO, Dane and 3 other comedians toured the country in a bus.
Definitely not my favorite though. I do like Brian Reagan's stuff. I wish Dave Attell did more stand up. Probably the hardest I've laughed at a comedy set was Comedy Central presents Zach Galifianakis. Zach is probably my favorite, and I can't wait for The Hangover. Spend some time on youtube, all of his stuff are side-splitters.

That was a really good one. "Starts with a Gal and ends with a Kiss". I really laughed when he actually stood up and talked to the back wall rather than the audience.
God,... I think I watch to much TV based on this thread.

i highly doubt PEZ has had a serious relationship, owned a house, had room mates, been in college, partied until the next morning, been

[hr]
hungover, doped up, stood some people up from "back in the day", experienced s3x or got a hum m3r in a car... his comedy is based on experiences... none of which a 14 to 16 yr old has which is prolly why he doesnt find it humorous... see my point???

no.
Just because a comedian's humor it geared to a certain age group, doesn't mean you have to be that age or had those experiances to find it humorous.

how so??? if you havent done the actual activity or been in those situations you cant relate at all... sure some one can tell you how something feels or how its like, but until you actually do something you arent going to be able to put yourself in that situation and completely relate... take for instance a muffled "uhm huhmmm"... if you havent had that happen to you then that is gonna go right over your head...

i moved out when i was 16 had my own place , minus the room mates. but didn't have parties and do drugs but i most deffinately worked with or went to school with someone who was. and there for i have to argue that even at 16 i could understand anything dane cook had to say.
i do not like that this thread went from asking whether or not you liked dane cook to a user bashing thread.
if you do not know this person outside of the virtual world. you shouldn't make assumptions is my opinion.

the way television and movies are now days boys and girls are having --- at 10-14 years old. doing drugs. drinking. and going to high school parites. so saying that you don't have to be in the target age group to understand...makes perfect sense and i would say that is a VERY valid statement.

i wish i could look at IP addys...
your story is heartfelt and moving out at 16 is definately trying on a person... how you were able to do that is beyond... just realize you are one of the ones that did it... and did it on their/your own!!! well done you!!!
now a question for you... are you implying that your sitch is the norm??? or did you overlook the fact i wasnt bashing PEZ and perhaps you fit into that 5%...

the part about bashing him/her was not targeted at any one person. that is my fault for not making it clear. i apologize. i just meant this thread was meant to be about one's thoughts and opinions on dane cook. not why or why not pez may not understand his jokes.
and yes i know most teenagers live with their parents till they are out of college ect and i am rare and very blessed for all the hard work i put into it. i just wanted to make the statement so that people would know ANYTHING is possible. ^^
the statement that i really should have quoted was just this part...
"none of which a 14 to 16 yr old has which is prolly why he doesnt find it humorous... see my point???"

And honestly PEZ has laid enough of his personal life out on the board, a reasonable assumption can be made that Dane Cook's joke would indeed go over his head. Hearing about something only goes so far. You can only hear/read about a car accident, but until you are in one, can you truly understand what it means to be in one. No story can recreate the surrealness that happens in a car crash. Just the subject of a lot of Dane Cook's jokes. I didn't understand everything George Carlin joked about growing up, but understand it now.

Now we are just getting into semantics. I just think that you can understand a joke/story, laugh find if humorous or not, without, as you say, completely relating. Also, nothing this particular comedian does is beyond understanding for anyone. He is very one dimensional. JMHO, I guess.
On an unrelated topic,...what kind of fish does Dane Cook have?
