if you decide to upgrade your lighting check out nanotuners. they have a few upgrades for the nanocube. i added a 36w actinic to mine and now have 108 watts. made a huge difference. i got the diy kit.

I have had a saltwater master kit from API and I wanted to get another one for the my nano tank. Glad to hear that you have the one I want. Couple more questions for you (guess your my mentor now), Did you upgrade the stock return pump, Do you add any trace elements or any bottled stuff to your water ever. How often do you do your water changes? Could you post a pic of how your light is over the chaeto please. I think thats it for now. Thanks a lot for all the help.

Current Parameters:
Temp: 80
ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 0
Nitrite: 0
Ph: 7.9 (this pisses me off because I put in an 8.2 buffer)
SG: 1.024 (almost 1.025)
Hopefully get a reef master kit soon along with a refractometer, not a huge fan of a hydrometer.

hydrometers are garbage, i be willing to be the SG is no where near 1.024. I used one for awhile and when i got my refractometer i read something like 1.018. So the sooner you get one the better
also if you Alk is off it can mess with PH. Get Alk on target your ph will be fine

Day 13
Got the Koralia 1 installed on the right front area of the tank. Took out a piece of live rock that wasn't quite fitting the way I wanted it to. Chaeto light is delayed so now won't be here until thursday or friday

New grocery list for after this weekends vacation:
mag float
surface skimmer
koralia 1 (another one)
Reef Master Test Kit
possibly a Mj 1200 for return pump
Reef Salt Mix (suggestions anyone Seachem, Kent Marine, instant ocean?)
My lfs sells water that is way too low in salinity so i am going to mix my own from now on.
Any advice on anything I may need next?

Not really sure. My girlfriend wants seashorses. I don't really care I just want to focus on corals because I have never done that before. I guess if I get an anenome than a clown would be pretty sick. Mandarin dragonet would be pretty sick after the tank is well established. Blenny of some sort. That's the jist of what I am thinking about.
Got my light for the Chaeto today, super stoked about that.

I don't want a seahorse anyways, but why not a Mandarin. can't they do well in a tank after its been set up for several months if you have an abundance of copepods? Thanks for the heads up guys.

awesome. Do you have any starter reccomendations? I of course won't be doing this for a while but just to keep in mind. Do you feed your fish everyday?
