Some of the people at Preuss' are very good. For example Steve. Some I do not like and avoid, but just based on feelings from talking to them. I have gotten very bad advise from them before, but those people no longer work there.
Also, they have not yet succumb to the DSB theory. I have talked to Steve about it and believe they may experiment with it in the future.
Their livestock is generally very good, but the prices are a bit high, expecially on dry goods.
So the squamosa clam you bought that died was from Preuss'? I am a little surprised by that as they generally have good livestock. I have seen the maxima there. A bit small IMO, to be a first clam. It is better, generally to start with a larger 4-5" clam, as they are typically healthier.
I am surprised that they let you buy that maxima actually. Typically they really don't let people buy them unless they have MH, or else they really try to steer people away from them. That is good that they did not give you a problem getting credit for the squamosa.
Side question to all. Just for discussion.
I was under the impression that PC lights were generally, slightly more intense than VHO. Would any of you agree with this??
If this is the case, would PC be a step better than VHO in keeping clams, even though still not ideal like MH??
Just a question, not a suggestion for people to try this.
