The Supreme Court ruled against the death penalty for child molestation.
Justice Kennedy's opinion for the majority contains some troubling thoughts
"there is a national consensus against capital punishment for the crime of child ----."
"the death penalty should not be expanded to instances where the victim's life was not taken."
Kennedy isn't fit to sit on a traffic court. National consensus? Are these guys pollsters now. If they are going to make decisions based on national consensus income taxes are history. And Kennedy's opinion on what the proper punishment is shouldn't enter into the decision. His only role is to decide if it is allowable under the Constitution. Hell, I'm not even sure if I favor the death penalty in these cases.
