out of curiosity, are those mushrooms that look teal that color when you look at it from the top of your tank through the water?

very awesome colors...i have purple shrooms from the front through glass, but when looking from the top they are actually a greenish-blue colration...not the nice solid purple...so i didnt know how yours were affected, it at all, through the presumed acrylic

That flowerpot coral is gonna extend and may hurt your brain coral. Just my two cents. One polyp can extend at least 5inches. Nice pictures by the way.

Thanks!
- I am using the 14 gallon oceanic biocube.
- I use stock lighting, but I do plan to mod the top and put in better lighting in the near future...or I may get a sunpod metal halide clip on.
- I have put a ton of money!! over $1000...I buy something new at least once a week lol.
- This tank has been running for a few weeks... the one before this had been running for about 8 months
you can ask me questions any time!
good luck!

Odyssea also makes lights for a really cheap price, but I've heard mixed comments about their fixtures...because you used tap water you will most likely have an algae break out in the beginning. wait a little longer before adding coral because there could be some stuff in the tap water that may harm the coral.
Thanks Again. So far my tank is looking good! It actually cycled very fast I think thats because my LR was cured already. Levels are doing great. Im getting some t-5's. Do you run carbon for your corals? My filter has a carbon sheet, but I assume that by running carbon someone adds a bag of carbon to their filter...right?

What, (if anything) do you feed your alveapora? I got a great deal on a huge green one a few days ago and recently tried feeding it mysis but it didn't eat them.

Well, since I've got the Bio-Cube, the carbon is in a cartridge, but I use to use the bag of carbon in my old tank. I don't think the pad is as efficient as the bag.

I don't think anyone really knows what exactly they eat, but I know they aren’t able to eat large foods like shrimp. I've also heard they live in nutrient rich environments in nature, so I spot feed it Dt's phytoplankton.

I see that some of your corals are a few inches away from the top of the tank. How can you do a water change without exposing the corals to the air, or leaving them out of the water for a little while. I ask you this because I just finished aquascaping my SW tank and a placed some rocks a few inches away from the top of the tank and I wonder if this will be a problem when I do a water change.
Here is my tank......what do you think?

Cheers

sorry for the late reply...I was in disneyland...YAY!! lol.
your corals will be fine. I wave my fingers near them, so that they will retract and then I do the water change. It's not like they will be out of the water very long.
