for the most part, yep. Like to have a drink now and then but if someone told me I could never drink again, it wouldn't phase me at all.

Ever since I have been lifting weights i've been only working endurance. Like I said I have muscular arms but they arent big (they're not too bad though). I'll start eating eggs.. even though I friggin hate eggs and drinking the whey shakes and doing very heavy weights at low reps. Someone had already suggested this to me too.. and I actually went out today and bought heavier weights :p
Also on the soda issue.. I cant even begin to tell you how much soda I drank a day. I'd have to say though on a average day it was about two two-liters of either mountain dew/dr. pepper/gingerale/orange soda/etc.. nothing diet :p ever. When I quit drinking them I would shake REALLY bad.. I was actually seriously worried.. but all the shaking quit after about 2 weeks and now.. I just cannot express how great I feel. I used to go to bed at like 9/10 and wake up at 6 and feel SO tired and tired throughout the whole day. I would even have to take a nap when I got home because of how tired I was. Now I go to bed at like 10/11 and wake up at 6, work all day, go jogging, go wherever and I dont even feel tired. I usually sit in bed just thinking because I cant fall asleep :p
Soda/Pop is the root of all evil in my opinion! :p I know for some people its hard to drink just water... but luckily I love water. I just go get some ro/di water for myself (not my fish this time)and I am a happy camper.

Also by the way... take some pictures of yourself before you start going on a diet.. it helps you a LOT to actually see the results and motivates you to want to lose more and more.
Sadly I didnt do this :( I woulda loved to though.

17 lbs is a large amount of weight to lose. I am sure there is a difference its just sometimes hard to tell.. I've been working out for a bit now and I see like veins popping out in places they werent popping out before and my arms seem to be more defined.. but then a part of me is like... man... maybe they were like that the whole time and I never noticed? :p
I can sure tell that I lost my 20 lbs though thats for sure.

I’ve always been fit (although I took a 3 year break from working out and just started again last December) and it can take a little while to see some positive results. I don’t like power lifting because I think bulk looks bad and I don’t like doing 18-20 set rep. For arms you can’t beat alternating dumbbell curls (3 sets of 10-12) and then I will do 2 sets of 8-10 reps on the preacher. Throw in 4 sets of 10-12 reps on tricep press downs.
Also, need to work your chest and I prefer using dumbbells and doing 4 sets of 10-12 on flat bench, 3 sets of 8-10 on incline and 3 sets of 10-14 on decline. Might want to throw in 3 sets 8-10 reps of high cable cross over. Doing this you will see results very quickly in the 2 most important muscle groups (my wife certainly likes nice arms and chest).
I think dieting is rather simple in theory, we want to consume fewer calories then we burn but in reality it is very hard (especially when most people don’t have the time to eat healthy meals). I NEVER eat a whole portion, when I eat fast food I will eat ¾ of a burger and maybe half the fries (always get water instead of cola) and will toss out what I don’t eat. I do think it’s much harder for women; my wife has been dieting since we had our little guy and I can see that she is doing all the right things but it’s taking her longer then I would have guessed to bounce back. I think that genes play a large roll in the way we look and the amount of muscle mass we can build.
