As long as you believe in Christ and are going to Heaven than I'm happy.

I agree but I just want to know you know what exactly his beliefs are.

No sarcasm, I just didn't understand you properly the first time you wrote it. Then when you restated it i understood what you had orginally meant.

Creationist or Atheist.
I find it EXCEEDINGLY insulting. EXCEEDINGLY.
But I think it is the truth...I think those are true colors, so there is some value in seeing it.

Until we can COMMUNICATE openly and without this rhetoric, the question is pointless.
excuse me but in this post it seems like you are in a way trying to put the Christians on this website down. I'm sorry if I'm wrong but by the "But I think it is the truth" it seems that you mean that Christians are bad and that's the "truth".

I think that a person can be "science based" in thinking and still believe in a god. I just think that unfortunately in some areas of the country it is passed down that way.

What was the point of this thread?
Someone please tell me?

Let it go. Seriously, you are reading way too far into things.

I wish there were more than two poll options you can put in a poll. If there was more than two we could have shades of gray and not just black and white which seem offensive.

I'm sorry but it's hard to let go a possible insult you know but I will.

Well that would be silly as I am a Christian.
There is a SIDE in the Christian faith that would see that as the "truth." You are a creationist, or you are an atheist.
So I believe the question posed above has "truth" to it, because I believe there are some who do see this as the alternative. It is their truth. It is the only way.
Many who believe in evolution go to the other extreme.
Both are issues. And while these two extremes own the debate, there will be nothing more than rhetoric.
I am a Christian, and I am an evolutionary biologist, and I find the poll questions exceedingly insulting.

It wasn't an insult. They were stating an opinion, mixed with maybe a hint of what they believe. You cannot get offended every time someone has an opinion or a belief that doesn't align with yours.

As I stated in the evolution thread, I believe God created the universe and the earth and all that's in it. But, I don't believe it was done in 6 days, which is taken literally from the bible. I believe God created it over billions of years, and created us through evolution.

I know it just seemed like she was saying that all Christians were out to get atheists. But now I got the clarification I needed so thank you.

ok I understand I agree with you some what. I believe that it could have been years not real days or it could have been non consecutive days. I don't think I agree with you on the evolution thing but that's fine it's a logical assumption just as my beliefs about it are. do you agree?

Aren't they in some sense? Either to get them to believe in Christ (most) or tell them how they are going to hell (few).

The implication is that for some Christians, if you have a certain belief - in this case in evolution - you are an atheist. That is a LEAP, and an insult.
And yes, some Christians find this damnable and are not quiet in their condemnation.

I guess so. I would try to get you to believe. I wouldn't push in your face though. And some Christians believe that telling you you're going to hell will help or something I don't know but I appologize for those who do. and if that has happened to you I hope you still have some kind of open mindness toward Christianity but I couldn't really blame you if you didn't.

I agree that it is a huge leap and it's just another Christian belief like there's Baptist and Catholic and ...

See you assume that I am not a Christian, I am. just because I choose not to go to church and because I have other beliefs that seem to go against some chrsitian teachings does not mean that I don't believe in a higher power. I just don't agree with everything any one religion has to say.
